Most Dangerous Jobs
Reply in thread
You'd think it's from dangerous assignment-based activities but it's not. It's from doing stupid shit in traffic stops and getting hit by innocent drivers. It's what happens when superficial authority meets 3 tons of metal at a mile a minute.

I think he's funny. I'd love more rotation but I think they do what they can with scheduling.

Trump Hates the Troops. The Troops Are Taking Notice.
Reply in thread
I'm sure he thinks the idea is dumb, but what he really hates is someone getting attention for being a decent person. That's his real kryptonite. Having to give deference to people with qualities he could never bring himself to have while they are lauded for it.

How is love even possible under traditional gender roles if men aren't allowed to be vulnerable?
Love does not require vulnerability in any shared sense. It can absolutely exist without it. I would argue that a relationship isn't very healthy without some concept of shared vulnerability but love isn't a relationship and a relationship isn't love.
Many relationships are purely based on a concept of "I know what my partner is thinking/feeling" when nothing is shared. There are many connections that just work, for various reasons.
I'm nearing 50 and didn't even know what vulnerability actually was (I had a concept but not an experience. I didn't know what I didn't know) until my early 40's. And I'm still shit at vulnerability and have roughly as much experience with using a Bat'leth in combat as I do being vulnerable. But believe me, I've been in love many times.

Do you ever reminisce about an old phone you had in the past?
My favorite ever was the Samsung Uproar. Also my first portable mp3 player and while it had shit storage, I had my favorite playlist always at the ready which was so novel at the time. The backlighted screen felt so premium then.

Why is everyone obsessed with therapy

Healthy emotional response means you react to your environment in an appropriate way given the environment. Unhealthy emotional response means you pass out when you hear a helicopter or you can't have healthy relationships or hold down jobs or feel good or feel anything. Emotions just are until they're an impediment to living.

DOJ: Ex-IRS employee who leaked Trump's tax returns intentionally got job to disclose records
It doesn't sound to me like he thought he was above the law. He seemed to know the consequences. He just didn't think that Trump should be above the law. Or, at the very least, above presidential decorum.

4Chan knew about Jeffrey Epstein's death 38 minutes before the rest of the world. The FBI tried to figure out how.
Reply in thread
There's still the option that it was a faked death. That much wealth and power, if it could be done, that's who and when it would be done. I'm not giving it much credence without more evidence, but I've got no reason to think that it's not possible given the series of absurd happenings that morning.
