Is going to? It actually is. We are rn putting alarms to open the house on the half an hour where the temperature drops below 23°C. We have 31 days and 24 nights. The usual here on hot season is 16 nights and 24 days so we don't even have air conditioning. We literally are strategically airing the house to cool it a little bit...

Be Vegan Be Rule

Reducing meat intake and replacing it with veggies where you can does heaps for the environment. Your best is phenomenal, if everyone did your best, I bet the industries would adapt and offer more alternatives you aren't allergic to, so you had more choice to evolve what "your best" is.

Sadly this is probably going to be a generational change, multi generational even, so please don't chastise yourself for not being able to do more.

Me for example, I try to use vegan/vegetarian ingredients where I can but I'm lazy and also eat meat every 2-3 days. The moment I learn of a new lazy healthy product that tastes good I introduce it to my diet, it's a slow process lol.

Very Hard Choice

As an European, we need to realise that AC also throws hot air if needed, it can be used as a substitute for radiators.

Technically it is more energy efficient that radiators at heating the place, so if you are mainly in a single room its cheaper to switch on the AC than the heating.

YSK: Deezer, the music streaming service, is owned by a company whose Founder and CEO is a Russian Oligarch with connections to the Kremlin and donates to the American Republican party.

Tidal was originally European but DayZ Jay-z bought it up so it's technically American now; Qobuz is french but it doesn't have a "brain-dead radio mode". Both have unofficial Linux clients.

Rn I use tidal because it's on the top 3 of the ones that pay the most to artists iirc(quobuz is up there too) and it hasn't had a huge American influence that I know of, but do your own research on the alternatives to see which suits you the most, there are tons of articles about them all.

Lasers, or, The effects of overhyped technology

... Like AI.

AI=Death Star

Machine Learning=Lasers

Machine learning has been around for a long time, and it's true that we have used the AI term for several thing before, but since LLMs popped up every fucking thing that before was a predictive algorithm, image processing... Now it's AI. Everything is called AI even if it doesn't use LLMs.

Plus the stuff about putting death stars in everything and that generating issues is also quite on point. C'mon it's a good post.

It's a metaphor. The Abrahamic god is not technically in the sky, but he has been called the almighty father and heaven has been represented to be in the clouds enough times even if technically isn't that everyone understands what "Sky daddy" means. It's a derogatory term, sure, that's the point. The term being derogatory doesn't make it a strawman though.

It's an insult and the Abrahamic god isn't a protected individual so whatever.
