My Lemmy experience so far

I had to cut down on meme-communities because the traffic is just so much higher than anywhere else.

The Diablo clickbait is unreal, is the enshitification of the internet reaching the gaming communities now?
Yes and no in sharing the rage. I can understand the how and why, but I also decide not to consume it for the most part. If I look for info, builds etc in games I always go to discord communities where I can get info bite-sized and written instead.
The videos themselves are so strange, why spend 15 minutes talking about something that could be written in 1-2 A4 pages. Builds in games especially are something that just is so much better written, rather than spoken.

People who haven't gotten into habit of googling stuff in the last 20 years might not get into it at all anymore because of how search engines are gamed with SEO spam tactics nowadays
True, and it should be taught way better. There are so many nifty tricks when it comes to search engines that the average user don't know about.

Yes and no to an extent. I support them being able to advertise for their stuff somewhere, but subs need to take a stance on what they allow. So much you see on reddit is the same photo x-posted to 50 subs and often not "fitting" into the sub, it just becomes spammy.
Stuff like gonewild becomes wildly different if it becomes just a promotion-sub. Can't there just be that instead?

My bachelors thesis was basically about recommender systems like this. Netflix truly is a sunken ship.

YT Tech Channel Recommendations
I love OptimumTech. Mostly focused on SFF builds and peripherals and setup-minimalism. However Ali has a very relaxing voice and entirely drama free

TIFU By telling my PT it was my birthday this week
Those are the best, we always did birthday-challenges! Often 2x your amount as pushups and 1x as pull-ups. Or you'd count congratulations and do one for every!

What book do you wish more people knew about?
The Cradle series by Will Wight, it's a wonderfully fun, light and long (12 books) fantasy series that reads a bit like a shounen anime. Sure, it might not be for anyone, it is maybe not a high literary achievement for an experienced fantasy reader, but it could be an excellent entry-drug or even a nice break from heavier reading!

classes with build variety
Druid has decent variety, but it depends on what sort of comparisons you are making. For pushing the very highest of NM-dungeons there is going to be less variety, in all classes.

Thoughts on Season 2 of Wheel of Time TV series?
There's quite a bit of exposition. And where the heck did Mat stuff those bricks?
Other than that, I think season two is fantastic. It's finally coming to it's own with characters, world building and establishing (if a slightly different) some magic rules. I'm having a blast. The casting is so blood and bloody ashes well done.

Diablo IV has been disappointing so far
I think the resource to spam core skills is intentional to a degree. I think they've stated that they want us to use more buttons.
Aside from that, I agree a lot with the PoV and map. The map barely functions, half the time I try to set a marker it sets it on my position instead of where I click on the map, and I have to close+open the map to set it properly. Super frustrating.

'One Piece' review: Netflix does the impossible

There's a whole bunch of fillers each time they remotely catch up to the Manga and several "guides" about which ones to skip etc. It's not too hawrd to catch up if you make it a consistent low-time commitment like watching half an ep on the pooper

I am LOVING Baldurs Gate 3

I agree about the quests feeling fairly good, but my hod is the jour Al itself atrocious. No way to remove/hide quests from the map. Many quests sort of remain in this "not done" quest state because completing it will have undesirable outcomes and it feels weird that I have to keep it there still

What is a niche hobby of yours that you are fascinated by and would like to share with others?
Parkour! I've been practising the sport in one way, shape or form for over half my life now!
Am I any good? No, probably not - but it's still a lot of fun to explore the world in a new way
