Reddit's auto-moderation
Got a three day ban by the automod, just because I referenced a joke Russel Howard made on taskmaster, where he (and so I) used the words "yellow peril".
So just mentioning those words is apparently racist...

‘Would you survive 72 hours?’ Germany and the Nordic countries prepare citizens for possible war
Should be noted that in Norway it is not just for war, but rather any emergency like natural disasters or someone takes out critical infrastructure in a digital attack etc.

The official novelisation of the movie says he is a "prominent business man" and the mom is a fashion designer.
So both probably makes quite a bit.

Let me see if I get this right: they get disqualified for containing an ingredient that hasn't been certified as edible (kokum butter) and is usually used in cosmetics, and there is no evidence of Big Cheese being the reason for the disqualification, other than the owner of the company saying it.
But it is still Big Cheese' fault?

It is relevant though, since the issue of it being animal abuse or not is central to the whole thing.
Is it not animal abuse? Then what has happened in this post is correct.
Is it animal abuse? Then this post shows that the admins will roll over if they get enough push back from a group of users.

You block then investigate yes.
Just like every other company in existence does it, since the first thing you want to do is stop continued spread/misuse.

Nintendo can now ban streamers and content creators from using their games if they are caught posting "immoral” content and leaks
How long until grandpoobear is banned from posting their content for having poo in their name, just like they deleted all his Mario maker levels for having the word poo in them?

Mercury has had a open high criticality cve for almost a year and a half now, that is being actively exploited.
Either switch to Firefox or a fork that is actually being maintained, or just block your machine from the Internet.

This has little to do with reddit though, other than they being the target.
These companies might just as well go after owners of fediverse instances, and would likely have more luck, as Lemmy owners won't have the same resources as reddit to fight it in a court.

Europe goes into daylight saving time despite controversy
The simple fact is that on the Monday after DST starts, more people have heart attacks and strokes.
Meaning that not going away from it means people will continue to die from it.

OH GOD YES
Feeling this a bit in relation to work.
Someone sends a meeting invite with the text "saw you had an open spot in you calendar", and I need to explain that my job isn't to just be in meetings.
I do in fact need time during the day to do the things I'm supposed to, many of which I've been told to do in those other meetings.
