crazy idea
There's too much loneliness going around regardless of gender, so no, a sweeping generalization about an entire group probably isn't the most helpful idea. Nor does it address the real problems.

Should I say fuck it and buy a steam deck now? Before all the tariffs hit.
I had this thought-process back in December before ordering a Retroid Pocket 5, which was evidently the right call. At this point things are so turbulent that it might be too late. I mean you probably could order right now and the price probably won't suddenly go up - but more important is that everything is so up in the air that you might need that money in the near future for other necessities.

I can think of some things. The first is that there's a real chance that, if you are living an unhealthy lifestyle, it is likely actively fueling the depressed-sounding state of mind you seem to be in. I know when things seem hopeless it's hard to want to try, but it's the successes in small decisions like that which can help us claw our way out of these pits.
The next is that relying on the "next incarnation" is wishful thinking that, I think there is a stronger case to be made that it's more likely to be disappointing than it is an improvement. We don't know how many realities there are, we don't know how many of them we would ever see (or if we could ever see others) after death, or whether or not there is anything of "us" after death to experience anything in the future. But if we're seeing the one world we do know is there, getting worse, then whatever else there is or what we can experience, we now know the total amount of them has gotten worse by this much. Put into more simple terms, we lay in the bed we make. What if you reincarnate/rebirth into a factory-farmed cow for example? There's only one sure-fire way to reduce the odds of that happening - making the choices that lead to fewer factory farmed cows coming into existence.
Death is not an escape. There is no escape. The only way out is through.
Then the other thing that has fueled some of my own decisions, is that we promote what we do, to others. If I were to smoke cigarettes for example, I would be making it more likely that those in my life, the people I care about, would be more likely to also start smoking. From that point of view, literally every choice we make has consequences that probably shouldn't be taken lightly.

Strange, I was also on a thread about ending support, and I found (and upvoted) tons of comments about switching to Linux. Must have been from different communities.

Anyone want to make an lingua franca?
Please no Google. 🙁
But this makes me happy that there's a conlang community in the fediverse now.
Do you have any thoughts on what your lingua franca would be like? My understanding is that so far Toki Pona, Lojban, and Esperanto are the most popular contenders. But I've heard people make the criticism that at least two of these are too Eurocentric.

It's growing on me very quickly. Been playing a lot of Chrono Trigger on it right now. It's a lot more comfortable to hold than the Steam Deck too. Plus, it supports both Android and Linux. There are already versions of Rocknix and Batocera available for it. It has one of the best looking displays I've ever seen as well.
That said, Steam Deck is still my main go to, because at the end of the day it is a full fledged PC.

I try that in uBlock from time to time, but I still can't seem to get it quite right. Testing in Duolingo right now, I set it to get rid of the app popup, as well as the semitransparent overlay that darkens the whole page. But there's still some element on the page that restricts me from scrolling until I tap on the page. It's an improvement, but still not quite there yet.

Kudos to Nvidia
I remember around 15 years ago I was excited to get my first computer with a dedicated graphics card, a laptop with Nvidia Optimus. It was also around the time I was just beginning to get into Linux. I found an Ubuntu forum post with detailed instructions on installing Ubuntu and setting it up properly on that exact laptop, so I tried to follow that.
It didn't help that I was unfamiliar with using the terminal at the time. But even so, this was before tools like Bumblebee were in a usable state (is Bumblebee still the preferred way to use Optimus?). I remember getting to the part about graphics switching and seeing some messy confusing hack for it. I don't remember the specifics, but I think it involved importing a script and using diff to patch something. And I think all it did was just disable the very gpu I was looking forward to trying out.
I jumped back and forth between distros and Windows 7 a lot at that time. But it was such a shitty experience all because of Nvidia that I have never purchased any of their products since then. I've owned a lot of computers in that time, and I'm just one customer lost. I hope Nvidia looks at AMD sales and wonders how many of them are users that Nvidia lost because things like that.

Wage stagnation is absolutely heartbreaking.
But even if I were making a livable wage, Nintendo's prices and other AAA are still ridiculous. The Steam wishlist sale life is the good life.

I got a set of grips for it, but I'm not going to use them unless I'm playing a game using the analog sticks. That's the only part that's uncomfortable for me. On dpad-centric games I'm finding it very comfortable on it's own. Also just want to add that it has probably one of the best dpads I've ever used. Very accurate inputs, and just the right amount of tactile feedback without being quite as loud as the Xbox controller.

You sure you're not just eating poorly and thinking you're eating healthy? There's a significant amount of misinformation in nutrition, on par with climate denialism.

So really, you just have anti-vegan bias. In actuality plant-based diets consistently show themselves to be among the most health promoting, and longevity promoting. Also, multi-generational vegans exist now days. It's established that plant-based diets are entirely appropriate for all stages of life, even pregnancy and childhood.
If even body builders have no problem meeting their nutritional needs on plants, do you really think it would be so hard to get all your choline and tmg on plants? Plenty of people here have shown you there is no shortage of options. In your dismissals of these attempts to help, one of the major factors you're ignoring is that no one eats a single ingredient as their food source. So even if you're not quite eating enough soybeans to reach a benchmark, you also have to keep in mind that these nutrients are in a wide variety of foods, and you'd most likely be getting doses of it from virtually everything you eat.
And also as pointed out, supplements are readily available. Like if I had your condition, I would not trust any diet to meet my choline needs, and would supplement anyway. And if I did, then why not make it a plant-based supplement?
So you can do this, and frankly quite easily. Here's the thing: you're getting hyperfocused on raw numbers. You can't actually know that a thing works until you put it to the test. When I went vegan I was also really nervous that, what if there is something in animal products that I need to live, and I'll die if I stop eating them?! I tried anyway, found out through real experience that plants do meet all my needs, and made me feel significantly better in the process at that.
That was when I understood the sheer amount of societal animal ag propaganda that had been drilled into me all my life, that it was all nonsense, and that experience was a liberation in and of itself.
Oh, and you said in another comment that you don't have factory farming where you live? Judging by your server, are you from Australia? Then you should definitely watch Dominion, because you absolutely do have factory farming, and you are definitely contributing to it.

You cannot draw that conclusion from that one article, particularly when the article says explicitly, "... and is outside the scope of this Position Paper." Presumably they either have, or will be, writing more specific guidelines for children and pregnant women on plant-based diets, but so far this is what I've found on their paper on nutrition benchmarks for children:
"Some children may also require dietary modifications for certain cultural or religious preferences, including vegetarian diets,4 which may also have added benefits. A recent study of one child-care center in South Carolina found that adding vegetarian meals to the menu improved the nutrient content of foods provided while keeping total energy, saturated fat, sodium, and cholesterol relatively low.11"
To read that paper and infer that it's claiming plant-based diets are unsafe for children and pregnant women requires such a thick degree of bias it's just desperate. Especially in the context of every other health authority around the world affirming that a properly implemented plant-based diet is safe and adequate for all stages of life. You really need to take a look in the mirror and ask yourself why you're trying so hard to lie about this.
