As someone not from USA, this baffles me

Hell, it's okay to be against abortion and advising people against it if that aligns with your belief, but legislating against it to the detriment of women too? Women who want to get an abortion will get an abortion, whether it's freely available or not. I live in a country where that is the case, and trust me, it being illegal does not "save" or help anyone. We just see more women risking their lives for something that could've been safe for at least one of the "living" beings involved in the process.

Had a similar conversation over in Mastodon recently and yeah, this is a very fair point. The indiscriminate scanning and publication of copyrighted books shouldn’t have happened in the first place, especially when there are existing ecosystems for ethical lending/leasing/borrowing of books already in place, which benefit and are working with authors/publishers already.

Yeah, I’ve been like that too recently. I prefer my not-so-problematic Debian setup nowadays, and I couldn’t even bring myself to rice it.
