Bodegas

here bodegă means a cheap, low-quality and often run-down bar/pub, I think that's close to its original meaning - wine cellar/warehouse. How did USA go from that to corner shop, I wonder

The Dangerous Munitions Mismatch Between America and Iran | The United States has only so many expensive missiles to send after Iran’s cheap and plentiful arms.

A whole lot of slop when the article should've started from the get go with this point here

According to the Times, Israeli officials estimate that they have destroyed 50 percent of Iran’s missile launchers.

If that number is remotely true, then its an insane number.
Maybe Israel is lying, wouldn't be the first time. Let's halve it to 25%. Even with that number, removing 25% of Iran's missile launch capabilities in a couple of days is fucking crazy.

And its that kind of thing that completely changes the military calculations. Sure, they're a lot more expensive, but if you fuck up your enemy's capability to launch missiles, they're very much worth it.
And missile launchers cannot be built at the same fast rate, it goes without saying.

Its things like these that make me (extra) distrustful of western media. Do an actual genuine effort at estimating capabilities and stop it with the clickbaity slop, I'm tired.

Mother of Iranian footballer pleads for her to stay in Australia, saying 'they'll kill you'

Mom was willing to suffer or die just so her daughter could live in relative freedom.

The worst part of it all is that even though she changed her mind in order to protect her mother and family, its meaningless. The Islamist regime will still hurt or possibly kill them simply for the fact that she dared defy them in one instance, they will not allow them to go unpunished.

Iran's Islamic Regime state media says they will kill Iranians both inside and outside the country: "We'll make your mothers mourn you"

but I never took into account the incompetence of Iran’s new despot

I dunno if this is incompetence, its rather just the modus operandi of the regime.
They killed thousands or possibly tens of thousands just for protesting.

When this will be over - and I overwhelmingly doubt USA/Israel/etc will lead to the fall of the Islamic regime - they will want to ensure that there is no threat to the regime. Failed revolutions are often followed by cleansings (read: mass killings and more violent oppression).
Its going to be so bad and people are going to go back to largely ignoring it, like they did in the decades prior.

Iran Makes Veiled Threat to Trump: 'Be Careful Not To Get Eliminated'

Trump is 100000000000000% more likely to die from eating yet another McBurger in the next 24hrs than he's to be assassinated by the Islamic Regime from now to the end of his natural lifespan.
Also, to people who'd view that as a positive because hurr durr Trump (I get it): that would lead to President Vance with a mandate to wage a war of revenge. The whole political discussion would suddenly shift from all the damage that Trump has done to USA, to destroying Iran, with a high possibility of giving more strength to republicans.

Mission accomplished

Ok, but this says that the google search for "Epstein files" died on 18 of february, 10 days before USA/Israel started the attack. So the war is not about the Epstein files, which I agree with. It is about USA's foreign policy.
It is in the interest of USA and Israel to severely damage the Islamic regime of Iran.
It is in the interest of western allies to help or be quiet about the attacks and not to raise too much of a ruckus about it.
