That photo shows a paper with all eligible representatives for all eligible parties for that election. We don't have "hundreds of parties" (although we have, IMO, too many — but a fair few of them are splinter fractions on the right).
Don't spread bullshit, please.

There's other instances, and you can interact with subs on other instances just fine. That's the whole point of activitypub. So if you really miss those subs, maybe see if they're available on other instances?

Yeah, that's the problem with caves, they tend to be dark. It's the lack of sunlight, usually.

now that precompiled binaries for Linux systems are becoming more popular,
Uh, what do you think was in the repositories all these decades? They can contain just the source, but that's not what most people use.
While the universal nature of SNAPS makes them useful, they will inherently take up a lot more space.
Ah, so you're talking about those... Yeah, but for those types of packages, including all the dependencies is kind of the point, they're meant to run on whatever distro where the packager has no influence in what libraries and other dependencies of their software is or.isn't present. They also bolt on things like sandboxing, so it's not entirely the same as the distro packages you get through your apt/dnf/zypper/etc.

What launcher should I replace Nova with?
Reply in thread
Because some people consider the readme to mostly text and informative. This one does link to the actual website, which does contain screenshots. To answer your question: nothing's wrong with it. 😉
That aside, I've been on Kvaesitso for quite a while, now, and it's quite nice. You kinda have to get over it being different from a lot of other launchers.

They wouldn't have to do it all on day one, everything keeps working fine the way it is, this would be an addition, right?
There's some functionality in Mastodon that's not in GoToSocial, for example, but that's not keeping me from living a rich, varied, activitypubbed life, so to speak.
Plus all these platforms are open source, so if people want the functionality, they can make it happen.
