It appears that Twitter is DDOSing itself.
It hurt itself in confusion. Genius.

Is Christian on Lemmy now? Has anyone heard if he’s planned on developing an app for Lemmy?
I'm actually surprised he hasn't addressed any comments asking him to do a Lemmy app.

My guy, it takes way way way more than a few hours to "add support". You make it sound as if it's so easy.
He spent years building that app, improving it, only to have the rug pulled out from under him. I'm sure any developer would be pretty distraught by such an event. I know I'd be.

TIL that approximately 70% of the world’s vegetarians live in India.
Not surprised. Vegetarianism has been the default in India for ages.
They've greatly explored the spice palette and can make pretty much anything taste amazing.
EDIT: some clarification. I did not mean to imply that majority of Indians are vegetarian. No. Majority do eat meat.
But in most parts of India they do not eat meat on a daily basis. It's typically a once a week kind of thing. And yes, I've observed this among friends and colleagues from practically all parts of India. Even the most fierce non-veg fiends will typically do a weekend bash, but eat regular roti sabzi, dal chawal rest of the week.

Am I the only one who can't use lemmy.world anymore?
Lemmy.world is facing major performance issues. I guess it's not a big enough instance to handle this much new traffic.

Me now that the new lemmy clients can replace my reddit addiction
Actually it's reddit I'm looking away from. Not Apollo. Memmy is good. In a better state than mlem I'd say.

Even i was a lurker on reddit. But here, I'm contributing more actively.
"Be the change you want see in the world" applies quite well here.
Also for app, I've been using memmy and it's pretty good.

What are the reasons to think we are living in a simulation?
The limits of physics could be a rendering limit on the simulation hardware.

I'm considering it myself. Haven't done it yet, but haven't browsed reddit today either.

With so many new people joining Lemmy recently, what apps are you guys using to browse?
I tried mlem, memmy, and wefwef.
Mlem is missing quite some features at this point. Wefwef is browser only.
So I've been using memmy for the most part. It's good.

Are there any Reddit refugees spending more time on Lemmy than Reddit?
Not yet. I'm using the Lemmy app, but it's not very well finished at the moment. I understand that this is to be expected given that it's in test flight. But that's the only factor limiting me right now.
If i had Apollo for Lemmy, I'd have quit reddit entirely.

What are your must-have top features you’d want to see in a Lemmy app or web client?
Basically Apollo, but for Lemmy. That'd be my dream come true.
