You can turn off the ability to see NSFW posts in your profile. It's not ideal since some NSFW isn't porn, but I'd rather miss a handful of things than spend all day blocking porn and fetish subs

Tyson Foods Just Quietly Launched Its First Plant-Based Nuggets
It's plant based capitalism.
Tyson hopes to undercut the vegan market that already exists by making sure that money goes to them and not to vegan companies. That money will be and has been used to continue their core business of hurting animals. It's portfolio diversification with the end goal of killing smaller companies and achieving monopoly in their sector. They don't care about animals, they care about profits.
Tyson as a company also lobbies for ag-gag laws that aim to turn vegan activists into criminals and felons and keep the world from seeing what they (Tyson) do to animals and the environment. When you buy from them, they take that money and use it to fund anti-vegan and anti-environment legislation (not to mention anti-welfare legislation for their victims)

Do you think cows consent to humans doing things like this
Do you think cows consent to humans shoving their entire arm up the cow's vagina to artificially inseminate them and then steal their baby?
Do you think cows consent to having their udders fondled by humans and strapped into painful milking machines?
You support rape. Rape apologists get no say on what is or isn't misogynistic

Personhood is political. You choose not to extend it to nonhumans for political reasons, namely you profit from human supremacy and don't want to change the system in which you benefit from nonhumans being chattel property, doing slave labor for you, getting raped and murdered so you can have treats, forced to bend to the will of their human oppressors for your entertainment.

Plant based food is a diet, veganism is a political movement for animal liberation. Oppressing others is toxic. Scolding ppl who advocate to end oppression is toxic. Fighting for the liberation of the oppressed isn't toxic. Hope this helps

I actually don't agree that vegetarians are halfway to our side when they know that milk and eggs and such greviously harm animals but chose to harm anyway. Especially when they go out of their way to scold and silence activists. Like OP, whose response to Dairy is Scary was to scold me, instead of feeling horror at the terrible suffering they cause to cows. Their comm also prohibits "proselytizing" as if veganism is a baseless religious movement and not a political struggle for animal liberation.
The only vegetarians who are halfway there are those who are naive and once they learn about the harm animals endure to get those products, they go vegan. I used to be vegetarian, and I was horrified when I learned other vegetarians were literally keeping information from me. It's fucked up to support that. It certainly doesn't help animals

Not a surprise that a human supremacist like you thinks it's okay to rape and murder non-human people simply for flavor and pleasure. It's literally in the name
Edit: but for real like imagine thinking this is a good comeback at all. You're literally doing the meme I just posted
people like myself who mostly don’t give a shit until you start getting preachy about shit we don’t care about. I’m aware cows are fairly intelligent. I will keep eating them because they taste good

Episode Discussion | Star Trek: Strange New Worlds | 2x02 "Ad Astra Per Aspera"
Reply in thread
I really hated this episode for this reason. I hate the thought experiment of "what if we found a planet where everyone practices eugenics and so therefore it's racist to be against eugenics".
Like if the rest of the world had found an isolated Nazi Germany, would it have been discriminatory and prejudiced to be against their practices? To not let them into the military? Of course not
Like why even write that plotline? Why are the writers choosing to legitimize eugenics like this, like it ever could be neutral or good and not horrific? I'm unwilling to entertain the idea that there's a good way to do it, just as I'd be unwilling to entertain a fictional society that showed slavery in a positive light

Veganism isn't a diet. You openly support and protect animal abuse in your comm.
It's silly to act like I'm baselessly accusing you. You know that milk comes from raping cows, stealing and slaughtering their babies so the babies can't drink the milk, then slaughtering the mother at a fraction of her life when she's no longer productive. You know this because I showed you. And yet, you discourage people from talking about this by tarring those who care as mean and unreasonable. Well, I think it's mean and unreasonable to enslave, rape, and murder other oppressed people on the basis of their species and ability.
If you don't know, chickens are bred to grow unnaturally fast, so much so that they often break their legs under their own weight. They're bred to lay a damaging and painful amount of eggs. Laying hens are separated from male chicks and the male chicks are all murdered in horrendous ways, such as maceration (put in a grinder), or thrown into plastic bags and suffocated under the weight of thousands of other tiny, helpless newborn chicks. Now you know, if you didn't before. You can look it up and see for yourself. You can choose not to pay for this. You can choose not to make a space that protects people who choose to harm countless sentient beings in this way. You can fill your comm with this information and save lives. You can stop scolding people who speak up on behalf of the trillions of animals caught up in our violent, oppressive carnist system, and start speaking up for the silenced as well.
But that would require you actually caring about non-human animals

Is "bike culture" a real thing?
Yes, but no matter how ppl paint it, car culture is worse

This is a lie. Vegans don't practice animal abuse. You've created a comm where products that come from animal abuse are specially protected and where teaching people that these products come from animal abuse isn't allowed. The difference in our practice is stark.

Yeah, you keep hedging with "almost" and "essentially". Veganism is about animal liberation. I'm not gonna praise speciesists, especially ones who reinforce the terrible and destructive stigma the world has against vegans who actually give a shit about animal lives and ending their exploitation.
I wouldn't praise a person who "almost" or "essentially" no longer beats their wife, because any amount of violent misogyny is unconscionable. This is no different.
Edit: you literally condone hurting animals through rape, exploitation, and murder, fucking liar. You don't give a shit about their liberation. We are not on the same side

Is it harsh to tell a man who beats his wife that his wife gets hurt when he beats her and he ought to stop? Is it mean? Tell me the gymnastics you have to go through to think it's mean to tell somehow who is knowingly harming others that it's not okay and unacceptable
Edit: The reason speciesists hate vegans is the same reason that misogynists hate feminists. It makes sense that oppressors hate those who speak up on behalf of those they oppress, but it's not right, and it's weird that you think it is

Also, pick one
I don’t think “human supremacists” [...] are going to love a vegan who tries to placate us
There are basically three categories of people when it comes to interacting with vegans. Vegans, people who rabidly hate all vegans, and people like myself who mostly don’t give a shit until you start getting preachy about shit we don’t care about.
The third category you listed is you declaring you'll only tolerate vegans who try to placate you. Anti-vegans and carnists who come into vegan spaces to call us "stupid" for caring about nonhumans are the same people. You're a typical fascist, blaming animal activists for your own choice to come here and disparage us.
Vegans, this is what I mean when I say staying silent in the face of injustice only flatters power. Carnists will do their utmost to stimatize those who speak out about the harm they're causing. This user claims they don't "love" pick-me's who placate them, but at the same time, they're scolding any vegan who isn't silent as "preachy about shit we don't care about." The only way a vegan can satisfy an animal fascist is to erase themselves and the plight of nonhumans completely. Nonhumans deserve better than that
