Important stuff to keep in mind up front, in no particular order: do you play games? How big should the screen be? How long do you want to use it on battery? Any operating system preferences?

Does anyone else feel weird about the vast amounts of computing resources seemingly being wasted on generative AI services like Copilot? It might be different if this was something that could run locally without requiring an internet connection, but clearly we aren't there yet. Copilot specifically reminds me too much of Siri from iOS 5, and it's often really slow compared to competing services.

Sucks that this will inevitably become more common, but hopefully it'll be easy enough to remap to something useful.

A good teacher can help you identify bad habits early so you can learn faster. YouTube is an incredible resource, but it can’t replace someone physically showing you what to do.

This goes for any game, but especially Destiny 2 because of the way Bungie lets players interact with different menus during loading screens: I hate getting kicked out of menus when I finally land on a destination, especially if it’s a social area. It’s pretty obnoxious if you’re tweaking parts of your loadout and then have to dive back into the menus to get back where you were.

Such a shame. I understand not wanting to compromise on details and graphics, but 60fps should be the bare minimum any developer is happy with in 2023.

Salvage seems like a perfectly good seasonal activity, maybe just needs more enemy density to make it seem worthwhile with six people. Deep Dives, on the other hand, are absolutely incredible and probably some of the best missions Bungie has put out in a while. I was in one for 28 minutes the other night and had a blast.

The triggers for escalating the difficulty in Deep Dives really highlight the need for a ping system in D2. It's long overdue, and it'd be way more helpful than shooting teammates and hoping they pick up on the cue.

Only negative I spotted in the post is the reduction to heavy drops when running double special, but that’s pretty understandable given the way I’ve never run out of ammo with Retrofit Escapade.
