What are some light-hearted, feel-good, comforting games to play on the deck?
If you like english humor, check out "Thank goodness your here". Alternatively "Tiny terry's turbo trip" or "Untitled goose game".

Learning Linux via AI
Personally i bought How Linux Works, 3rd Edition and Linux Pocket Guide.
https://nostarch.com/howlinuxworks3
Books that goes from the sytem architecture and from there gives you context for what you are trying to do. They work when your system won't and you can write in them.
But you should learn in a way that feels good to you. Also, check out the forum for your distro and DE.

Never played RDR 2 because of their abuse of workers, and wasn't planning on playing GTA. Please support smaller teams instead.

Mandatory Boomer post
Just finished a playtrough with Openmw and some graphical mods. The only thing i felt lacking was the quest log. Stellar game with a nice story.
Sure, increasing the base walk speed would be nice.

Paradox Takes the Blame for Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Sales Flop, Announces $37 Million Write-Down
When they announced the pre-order bonus, it seems clear that this might not be a good day one purchase. Will probably give it a look some time, but i should replay Troikas version first.

6* months away now. If you're on 10, do you plan to upgrade? Make the jump to Linux?
My gaming 'puter is running win 10, and the plan is to replace it with one running Manjaro. Will have to see when that happens, not upgrading to win 11.

These all have different types of content around coffee. A good place to start.

[Discussion] What are you playing on your deck? - February 2025
A bit of Balatro and Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip when i want a short session.
Have also installed Borderlands 2 to try out Stick Flicking. Aiming is going great, still trying to learn to turn around in hectic situations. But at least the steam controller configurations are great.

Your all-time favorite game? Let's discuss the best options!
Gothic 2, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, GTA: San Andreas and Arcanum are for og ny favourite games that are a bit too flawed to be all time favourite.
Final Fantasy 6 and 7 were so good, but I can't play them alone, we used to pass along the controller.
I love point and clicks like Grim Fandango and Monkey island.
I played Planescape: Torment in 2006 and it left such an impression on me.
Of never games there's Disco Elysium and The Obra Dim.
Not to mention Zelda's, Illusion of Time, the Mana series, Mario's, the old Blizzard games, Brotherbound games and other amiga games. Quake........
Maybe Day of the Tentacle?

[Discussion] What games are you playing on your deck? - April 2025
Been playing Witcher 3 for five weeks now, am running around in Skellige for a little while. Recon I have a few more weeks with it.
Also tried some demos: Fishing Paradise, Loddlenaut, Nubby's Number Factory and Squirreled Away. Wishlisted Nubby, not sure the others are for me.

I used this one for FNV, and could download mods straight from Nexus to mod organizer.
Worked very easy for me.

I decided to replay The Witcher 3, runs great on the deck. Though, some text is a bit small. Been long enough that i can't remember all that much.

Graveyard Keeper is available for free on Steam right now
I got around 10 hours in, but felt the resource gathering became a bit slow and tedious. Generally liked the rest of the game, maybe theres some mods to look at?

Which boardgames have you been playing this week? (24 Mar)
We hadde a board game day on saturday.
Bus: New to the group, felt like a family version of Food Chain Magnate. Really fun, and I like that you only have 20 actions total.
Concordia: New to me and one other of the group. A nice engine builder that seems to rely less on randomness than some of the others we play. We had a great time, even though I was more focused on engine building than scoring.
Fun facts: A party game, played while making pizza. Trying to rank each others response to a question.
Ito: Played while eating pizza. Another party game, here you are given a number, and everyone needs to answer a question in a way that relates to their number and place them face down trying to end up with a correct sequence. It's fine.
Good cop, bad cop: A short and simple hidden role game with guns.
Doodle dash: A drawing game with a time element, this is so fun because most of is tries to be done in five seconds, while the slowest players usually end up with just a few lines.
Bang! the dice game: Another hidden role game, this with dice. Still fun after all these years.
We started the day with just the core group, then around pizza time the casual players showed up and we pivoted to games for 7-8 players. Fun day, even if we played easier games. We rally liked Bus.

IsoMetro, a tile based city-builder with a Simcity 2000 style aesthetic, but with an modern simulation engine, released on Steam
I prefer the visual aesthetic of Sim City 2000, but this looks interesting. Will haves to check it out when I'm done with some current games.

Steam Deck / Gaming News #22
I just built my first computer since 2001 with Endeavour as OS, and bought Cyberpunk and Robocop from GOG.
Also just recently played through Drova and that's the most fun I've had in a game recently. Not quite as good as Gothic 2, but well worth playing.
