Hyprland is a toxic community
I stopped using it because of a couple shitty interactions on Discord. I don't know anything about the developer himself but the company he keeps sucks. Using the word "cucked" when talking about breaks in dependencies... and being told "see if I care" when pointing out a race condition I found in initialization that caused problems with multimonitor setups.
No thanks. Sway works great. No need for eye candy.

What is the one most astonishingly dumb things that, as a child, you believed was absolute truth?

Deregulation will surely help the housing crisis 🤡
Most "libertarians" are this dumb, but the old school ones at least attribute the problems to uneven regulation rigged in favor of the ruling class, which does jive with my understanding of what is wrong with the financial system. That being said, libertarianism wouldn't work even if they did get shit straight.

Your bones are made of calcium, which is also a metal. You've got a metal frame inside your body.

Wayland or X11? Why?
Wayland for better multimonitor support, scaling, and tear-free rendering.

If an alien civilization were to visit Earth, what movie would you pick to show them in order to give them a summary of what mankind is all about?
Idiocracy.
Real answer though, 2001 a space odyssey.

Reddit faces content quality concerns after its Great Mod Purge
I'm convinced that Reddit is delaying banning anything that will leak more users to Lemmy. For instance, i would be 100% done with Reddit if they banned the Infinity client, but they haven't. I'm sure I'm not alone too, as there is probably a huge overlap in infinity client uses and those who would move to Lemmy.

Google is now moderating user's bookmarks and removing them.
As people have said, this is fake, but why would you keep any important data with Google anyway?

If it gets bad enough that millions die, let alone billions, the effects will hit everyone, hard. Sorry to burst your bubble, but the economy is very interconnected and fragile, and wars are started over a lot less.

Numbers will go up again once the reddit infinity client stops working.

So we are living in science fantasy. No one has any idea where the four fundamental forces come from. They just "exist" like magical forces.
