I just took an NFPA 70E electrical safety course, and the instructor was talking about how electricians love to cuddle.

I thought it was weird for a sec, then I remembered the last time I opened an electrical panel with someone else nearby. Then I remembered every other time I opened an electrical panel with other people nearby. Then I remembered all the times that I was all the other people nearby.

Then he showed us a video of an arc flash with 3 people inside the panel, and then there was nobody nearby.

Why are people talking like being a mechanic is bum work, or like there's a huge overhead cost in being a mechanic, or that you have to go to trade school to be a mechanic, or like mechanic work is going away?

None of these is true.

Mechanics will always have work, usually with overtime, and usually pay is very decent.

No degree required. Certs optional.

Tools are very affordable when you're not buying them all at once.

Lots of room to change specializations.

ICE mechanics are still going to be hugely in demand because the Internal Combustion Engine isn't going anywhere, even if they stop putting them in some/ most automobiles. But there are dozens of other mechanical disciplines, and as long as you know how to (when to) then a wrench, you can always get a job.

A bearing is a bearing, whether it's on a crank shaft, an electric motor, a tail pulley, or a garage door.

Two different people

Reply in thread

That one is Jake, he's the one in the op at the bottom, with the intolerant opinion. He's playing a heel character here.

The other is Logan, with the message of tolerance, who is playing a face.

Neither of them is being genuine, they are just looking for attention. Both of them.

Some things were better in the good old days

^as said by somebody who never had to replace the motor on their washer, or the burned on their range, or the belt on their dryer, or the elements in the water heater...

The reason they always worked forever was because your dad bought replacement parts from the appliance repair store and didn't complain to you about it.

This is literally one of the top 3 good things about YouTube

Person critical after being shot in Border Patrol incident in Arizona, NBC News reports

This article is wild...

The driver of a vehicle was being chased by cbp for giving brown people a ride in his car, stopped and let a bunch of people escape from his car then fled AND ESCAPED(?)

Later(?), cbp ghetto bird found the same exact vehicle being driven by this guy and chased him until he got out of his car and opened fire on the chopper(?)... then the officer in the chopper pursued him on foot(?) when a firefight erupted between the two and guy was shot.

You'll have to forgive me if, due to recent events, I find the credibility of the CBP to be in the negative, especially with such a disconnected story.

Can we have some body cam footage to prove this shooting was justified?

Until then, I'm afraid it was just another federal assault/attempted murder on a US Citizen.

So unfair

Gen-x millennial here... (born in the late 70's but still know how to build and use computers)

I used to smoke weed thru a "pinch-hitter" while waking thru supermarkets or riding the bus. It was a little ceramic or steel cigarette shaped and colored pipe that you could stuff just enough for a toke or two into. Very discrete.

I'd save the pop cans and apples for after school or when I forgot my chambered metal pipe.

We still did the same shit, it just didn't taste as good
