Just because something is made for teenagers or younger doesn’t mean they have to be bad though. I would say the original three Star Wars are a good example of that, sure they were fun for kids, but they didn’t need dumbed down or made insincere for children to be able to enjoy them. Look at the golden age of Pixar movies which, sure, are children movies, but are also just movies that hold up for adults too.

Do you think reddit will survive this?

Reddit’s enshitification has been happening for a long time, and I don’t know if this is the end yet, but I think in a few years when Reddit has died, we will look back at this and say this was the nail in the coffin. I think this will push out the 0.1% of users who generate and moderate the good content, and if/when they go public things will get much much worse. The popular subs will continue to rot and lose the buyers money, so the Reddit admin will be forced to tighten the screws. They’ll force you to have an account to view Reddit, they’ll kill old.reddit, they’ll jam more ads in and kill the 3rd party API completely, even for accessibility apps. My gut says Reddit has like 2 years tops before we consider it “dead” (though will prolly still be up for years)

Biden unveils plan for Supreme Court changes, says US stands at “breach” as public confidence sinks

Meh. I think packing the court is a short term fix (if even possible with a republican house), and would set a new precedent. Then it’d become a competition to keep adding ${party_in_white_house} Supreme Court justices every time we have a new president.

Actually amending the constitution would probably be the best move (not that it’ll ever happen) as they could permanently reign in the Supreme Court and help de-politicize it again.

I actually have one of these on the emergency kit my brother gave me for a car, he put it together in a like military style bag to keep in my trunk and it has a patch on it like that. It’s just a monochromatic version of the American flag, anyone I’ve known who has something like that doesn’t intend anything past that. Like others referenced, modern fatigues and gear in the US Military feature a similar monochromatic flag to that (usually black and the primary color of the uniform, like desert tan or olive drab) to save cost and make it blend in with the uniform better, so I think that popularized that to some degree in culture.
