Housemate and I are on the house hunt and we found this lovely house in a place we love, and in very fine print it says you aren't allowed to use the carport/granny flat or the shed...

Why the fuck would I pay to use half the house/property, you've got to be fucking joking. What's more is I don't want to run into someone in the backyard every other day while I'm paying probably triple their rent. I don't know maybe I'm being unreasonable, but it just seems ridiculous that you pay all this money to basically have a room mate you don't even get to pick.

Probably petty but I just declined a "pre-work assessment" because after reading the fine print it appears some of it will be AI assessed, and it also requested access to my webcam while I sat the test to record me.

I've emailed the recruiter and told them I'm withdrawing my application and why I'm withdrawing it. Probably won't hear anything back but I'd rather not work for a company that can't even assess me themselves.

Just wanted quickly pop in and say thank you all for your words of condolence this morning, they were much appreciated. It's going to be a bit sad for a while, but all will be well again soon.

Housemate has decided to have him cremated (he was technically theirs), and I've secretly called the crematorium to have him upgraded to an urn that looks like a sleeping cat, so he will look nice amongst their little fancy knick knacks shelf.

Ok DT, I have decided to take the new job offer! Short term, I lose a bit of cash (it was bound to happen because I make a LOT of penalties), but long term I make myself infinitely more employable and can start to think about settling down.

The absolutely massive win is I will now after a stupid number of years return to normal 9-5pm life! I am ridiculously excited, I miss my friends and family, and just having a normal weekend.

Sick kitty is having a bad day. It's so hard to watch, but there's nothing to be done, we've made him extra comfy today, so hopefully that helps a little. I think the time is looming ever larger at the moment, I hate to accidentally prophecise, but I don't think he'll be stealing prawns this Christmas.

Tomorrow I return to the office after 3.5yrs, if I die in the night I shall take it as Gods mercy.

Also, shout out to the utter brilliance that is my upper management thinking dragging us in for full rotations without toeing us in first isn't going to have a single mental affect on anyone.

Fuck I love a British crime drama! 60% actual crime solving, 10% HR nightmare, 10% rain, 10% you recognising actors, 5% places that sound like they belong in a fairy story, 5% people talking really fast. It's just brilliant stuff, it's perfect turn your brain off telly even though that's not it's intended purpose.
