This is the same reason nobody in the group chat in the cornell case spoke up, everyone in it was almost certainly already known to be trusted to not speak up about such things, or be actively interested. Nobody that would have told the authorities would have been allowed in, even though many guys (likely even a decent amount of college frat guys) would have spoken up if they were in the chat. Honestly don't even need to infiltrate, just let them do the work of getting candidates into elections, just still vote for them and that's it, and push them further left, or pull members further left. Even in the primaries it's better to vote for them unless there is a better candidate. I just see no reason to actively fight, they're still better than nothing, and also often already doing community/direct action, getting boots on the ground to go talk to people and get them to understand and support socialism.

Ok so how about we do that, and also vote for DSA? Like while we are building this party, why not just also have everyone go out and vote every few years? At the very least, having democrats and DSA types won't actually prosecute and actively fight against such a party while the right absolutely will. And people seeing that change is possible from incremental policy change can also help people see that hey, these socialists aren't so bad, what else is further to the left that could be better?

All of that is also just so far out, I would rather have slightly better policy on healthcare, affordability, queer/trans rights and acceptance, etc. I don't want to sacrifice my trans friends lives and safety by letting the right win temporarily in hopes that it will cause a violent revolution resulting in true communism in a few decades if it means they won't be alive to see it, whether from being killed by the state or from suicide. Even if it means a few extra decades of fighting for true communism

Heres my analysis of what all has actually happened from a similar post with this article yesterday

From reading through the article and it's sources, here's what seems to be the case:

• a simulation at Berkely National Labs with their supercomputing capabilities has verified that LK-99 theoretically has superconducting properties

• Argonne National Labs also seems to be involved and doing stuff, but nothing official from them yet, besides maybe helping with simulation stuff

• a Russian scientist is working on improving the synthesis process and has made some low purity samples that produce the Messnier effect, but higher purity than the original I think. It's all from Twitter (x) threads and a little hard to follow. Her handle is @iris_IGB

I would give LK-99 a 95 percent chance of either being a true rook temperature superconductor or directly leading to the discovery of a true rook temp superconductor in the next few years.

A few caveats however: according to the simulation, the conductive pathways only forms when the copper bonds to a specific higher-energy spot in the crystal, so getting higher purities will likely need a fair amount of innovation on the production process.
