The elaborate bus jacking was pretty violent. I think he also had some prisoners do things like write messages in their own blood when he was testing the notebook out.

Why do doctors not seem to give a fuck about pain? Is this just an American doctor thing, or is it universal?

If I give them back the leftover oxy from what they sent home with me, would that help in getting any potential “drug seeker” notes removed?
I don’t even get how I’d abuse the stuff. It just makes me sleepy. Like - marijuana is fun because it makes food taste good and helps me think more creatively. Opioids take away intense pain just enough for me to sleep it off. I ended up throwing away most of a bottle of Percocet after I got my top surgery because I’d rather have a little breakthrough pain on Tylenol and be cogent than sleep 18 hours a day.

Part of why my condition got so bad to begin with was because I’ve had so many bad experiences with doctors that I didn’t go to the hospital until I started feeling unbearable pain. I spent a full two weeks with an infected abscess just getting worse and worse because I figured that whatever it was would be blown off if I went to the hospital - because that happens any time I’ve ever gone to an ER.

As a trans guy, I got about 50/50 “she” versus “he” despite being a fat balding bearded guy. I’m guessing that factored into it too.

I need to get my IUD replaced (it’s been 10+ years) and I’m terrified. I don’t have insurance, so my best option is Planned Parenthood, who told me that it was “just a little pinch.”
I’ve been fucked with knives and wartenberg wheels (abusive BDSM relationship). That shit was not “a little pinch.” I filled up a diaper with blood afterwords.
It’s to the point where I avoid seeing doctors, unless it’s the nurse practitioner who does my hormones - he’s the only doctor I’ve felt listened to me.
They’re so damn condescending too - I’ve taught biology and chemistry - I can understand a real explanation of what’s happening and want one!

I actually don’t have insurance so it probably wasn’t a factor.
I am super fucked lol.

I don’t understand the adolescent need for every female character to be fuckable.
Consider the absolute meltdown over the new God of War game. It’s to the point where some loser made an AI slop game where the character does laundry, gives birth, etc… because they’re so buttmad that every game isn’t Stellar Blade.

I think the worst part is that my mother, who sexually/physically/emotionally abused me, sent me a bunch of food and supplies. Things that she knew I liked.

Aristotle also believed that women were defective men, that some people are naturally destined to be slaves, and rejected atomic theory.
I feel like you can change this absolutely imbecilic image to “the hole left by everyone just accepted Aristotle’s idea that you can just think everything from first principles and don’t have to do any experimentation” and it’d actually be somewhat accurate.

I'm just a big toasty cinnamon bun that isn't fatally trapped in a crevice.
The idea of a “silt out” cave diving is absolutely terrifying to me. That you can accidentally kick up some dust and then you’ll have no idea which way is up or down, that you’ll be flailing around in the water and won’t be able to see anything is nightmarish..

This month's Windows 11 update broke the Recycle Bin, OneDrive, and possibly your PC's stability
My work laptop has windows 11, and for some reason I keep losing my mouse pointer. I’ll boot it up and there will just be no cursor. I can reset my graphics driver (which is what googling suggests), enable and disable my mouse in the hardware manager, tweak all kinds of mouse settings - and nothing. Sometimes opening a pdf in the edge browser brings it back, but it can still disappear afterwords.
Also, pulling up the menu to print something can take several minutes. If I need to change printers on that menu, another several minutes. Sometimes, it’ll just crash the entire program I am trying to print from. It’ll also just ignore some settings occasionally - things like landscape versus portrait.
The search feature in explorer is also absolutely broken. You can type in the exact file name of something and it’ll find everything but that file. Even the “recent files” section is broken.
I don’t understand how anyone at Microsoft thinks Windows 11 is an acceptable product. Do they not use it?

True Story
Mates, makeup ain’t for y’all. You know how you spent eight hours messing with your .bashrc or rolling for counter strike skins or whatever weirdass hobby you have? You don’t do it because you are trying to attract women - you see your friends get into something cool and you get competitive with them. That’s what it is for the womenfolk. They get their nails did and do weird ass makeup looks because it’s a fun hobby. They know that you probably don’t care about the difference between coffin and ballerina nails. But their friends do, and they want to show off, because it’s fun.

Pope Francis was a great Christian pastor
Reply in thread
Calling someone a “pastor” is a Protestant thing. You wouldn’t hear a Catholic call The Pope a pastor.
Vance, like a lot of tradcaths, is LARPing because the rituals look cool. Sorta like how Andrew Tate is a “Muslim” because he thinks it’s all about controlling women, but at the same time unabashedly drinks in public.
Like not all Catholics are obsessed with the Pope, but like I have merch of the man from my Vatican visit. I have some conservative Catholic family critical of the Pope’s more progressive views, but they would never talk like this.

Parents opt kids out of school laptops, ask for pen-and-paper
My first year teaching I was encouraged to do everything on the chromebooks, because the district wanted to save on printing costs.
If you have 100+ students, and are limited to 500 pages/month (I could print 500 more, but had to purchase my own paper…), you have to use the laptops.
Also, when parents and students increasingly treat attendance as a suggestion, keeping up with paper assignments is hellish. There were days I showed up with 1/3 or more of my class missing - with online class work, I at least could say “the work is available online.”
The technology is a problem, but it’s a problem that’s arisen because class sizes are out of control and admin has zero idea what is going on in the classroom. It’s a bandage that’s been left on so long the skin is starting to get infected around it.
