I am attempting to self host piefed on a vps server running Debian 13 in docker with nginx proxy manager. I am at the step where I build it from source, and whenever I do it I get a ton of permission denied errors. I know the instructions said to chown 1000 the previous step, which I did but it still doesnt work. Thanks for the help.

Hello people, I recently rented a vps server from OVH and I want to start hosting my own piefed instance and a couple other services. I am running debian 13 with docker, and I have nginx proxy manager almost set up. I want to set up subdomains so when I do social.my.domain it will go to my piefed instance, but how do I tell the machine to send piefed traffic to this subdomain and joplin traffic (for example) to another domain? Can I use nginx/docker natively for that or do I have to install another program. Thanks for the advice.

My parents are paying 38$ a month for 2tb of iCloud storage, and I want to help them save some money. Does anyone know some cheaper cloud photo storage programs that are more private and cheaper? I would be open to a NAS but I have had unreliable results with them in the past. Thank you.
