What do your daily meals look like each day?

I have unintentionally become pescatarian recently because I've come to realize that fish have a lot of nutritional value. So far, my meal plan looks like this:

Breakfast

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 slice of Ezekial bread toasted
  • Mixed berry smoothie with banana, peanut powder, collagen peptides, chia, creatine, non-fat greek yogurt, and water

Lunch

  • 2 tin cans of sardines, mashed
  • Non-fat greek yogurt
  • Tzaziki sauce
  • Lemon
  • Black pepper
  • 2 slices of Ezekial bread toast or one ezekial tortilla, depending on my mood

Dinner

  • Shrimp kebabs made with olive oil and veggies
  • 1 corn roll or asparagus

Some days I'll switch out my dinner for a salmon salad / salmon wrap, or I'll change the shrimp kebabs for a shrimp ceasar wrap with a nice avocado oil based dressing. Being pescatarian is really great because it's easier to make, shelf life lasts very long, and it's generally cheaper than buying meats.

How did people treat you after losing weight?

Currently down about 120lbs after 8 years of going up and down. Net loss is 200lbs, given I had some regains over the years. Now, I'm down from 300lbs to 178lbs and ever since I passed 185lbs, I've had a lot more oppurtunities with women.

It feels weird, not gonna lie, it just sorta happened out of nowhere. A lot more women smile at me, talk to me, and look at me more. The attention I started getting just feels like a glimpse really. Not massive amounts, but noticably more. I'm still 10lbs away from being done entirely, as I do still look a bit husky at 178lbs.

Though, it's not just women, but people in general have been treating me better, even strangers. I will finally reach normal weight for the first time ever in the next couple weeks (173lbs according to my BMI) and I can't be more excited to finally see it!

For those who lost weight, what was it like for you? Did people start treating you differently?

Is it worth living in an RV to be anonymous?

I'm wondering if there is any true benefits to being a nomad anymore. Given the fact that Flock exists and you're now tracked basically all the time, it's getting harder and harder. You could use deflock map to navigate around which could work. I would also like to know if this lifestyle is cheaper. I could buy a plot of land to live on in my RV and have a setup, winters might be brutal but I could possibly do it if done right. I make 100k/year right now in NY with no bills, so I'm saving up as much as I can.

Is it worth attempting to make a libre version of QubesOS?

This has always been a thought of mine. I wanted to replace/remove any non-free kernels with a libre kernel that doesn't provide non-free binaries. I know some people say it does not matter, but I think it would be a cool idea.

I was thinking about hardening QubesOS by possibly using a deblobbed version of the Kicksecure kernel on all VMs. It would also come with Javascript disabled entirely on all VMs, all non-free binaries removed, everything run over Tor by default, maybe creating a custom repo with only free software, etc.

This would be inclined towards people who use Libreboot/Canoeboot, specifically those that use systems like OptiPlex 9020 and T440p, that run only 100% free software in the BIOS.

I've never attempted it, but I would like to know if anyone would be interested.

Need help setting up a software RAID 1 through Calamares Installer (Debian 13 Trixie)

Hello,

For some time now I've been really struggling to get a server setup properly with RAID 1. This is an NVR system for cameras, I want to use XFS with this system. I would love if someone could help me or link me to a guide, I cannot find one. Encryption is preferred. A step by step, guide would be great, drop an XMR address and I will send you a tip for your help!

Thank you! :)

OpenAI launches an AI-powered browser: ChatGPT Atlas

"OpenAI’s Product Lead Adam Fry said during the livestream that ChatGPT Atlas will have the sidecar feature, too. Further, ChatGPT Atlas has “browser history,” meaning that ChatGPT can now log the websites you visit and what you do on them, aynd use that information to make its answers more personalized."

Oh, great! /s

Best Linux client for receiving calls from XMPP? (JMP.chat)

I use Debian 13 with KDE. I have a JMP.chat number and I use Cheogram on Android for this, works wonderfully. However, on Linux, I've tried different clients, Dino-IM, Gajim, etc. But all of them have their own quirks. Dino-IM seems to work the best for me, though, I was never able to get an phone ringing notification from a incoming call. That was a real downside for me. If anyone knows a way to set it up correctly, or what client I should use, please feel free to post below.

Thank you!

How do I turn my Anki deck into multiple choice quiz automatically?

I am trying to study for my Network+, I have an Anki deck I downloaded from the internet that's very helpful, but I have to basically mark down myself which things I'm struggling with. I was wondering if there is a tool available that would automatically turn my deck into a quiz? I do not want to spend a lot of time turning it into a quiz myself, because there is a lot of material. I am okay with using Duck.ai (ChatGPT) for helping me with this, if needed. Just not aware of an easy way to do this.

I'm trying to avoid using non-free sites like Quizlet.

Any help is appreciated!

Should I use the Linux-libre kernel or no?

Hello, I'm wondering if I should use the Linux-libre kernel or if I should stay with the stock Linux kernel. I do want to remain 100% FOSS and have Libreboot installed, but, does it really matter if I use the stock kernel or not? Can the blobs from the stock kernel be a vulnerbility? My only reason for wanting to stay with the stock kernel is because its better maintained and gets audited more. But I'm really just worried about the blobs, can they do anything?

Have you noticed the effects of dystopia yet?

Hello,

I was with my brother and his group of friends, and one of his friends was talking about various drugs. My brother told him, "Shut up, you're going to put us on a watchlist," and he said it in a serious tone. It felt pretty dystopian when he said that; honestly, it was a bit eerie, mostly because he's being controlled and self-censoring without anyone there, and he seems to be aware of the freedom he's giving up, yet he continues to act this way. I've talked to my brother about privacy and why it's important many times, but he would rather live this type of controlled life and doesn't care because "they already know everything about me anyway." He's in his early 20s.

Has anyone else had moments like this?

People who have lost weight, how has your experience been?

I've lost a significant amount of weight twice. I went from 230 lbs to 180 lbs on two occasions over the past 2-3 years. The world felt different; people were nicer, and I noticed more interest from women (Coming from a person who was originally 300 lbs, this was a dream come true lol) My confidence and self-esteem improved, even though I still had some stomach fat.

Currently, I'm at 190 lbs and aiming to reach 170 or 165 lbs, I want to get rid of all my stomach fat. I used to work out a lot, but now I mainly focus on dieting and walking more, like walking to work. This approach has helped me lose weight, but I should probably get back to the gym before summer starts up again.

I’ll be 21 next year, and I’m excited. I was stuck at 230 lbs for over a year, which honestly sucked, I really missed feeling good about myself. I plan to reach my goal of 165 lbs in the next 3-4 months. I've never been this weight before, and it's going to feel so surreal to have a flat stomach. Anyway, I would love to hear your stories!
