Western Series oil painting by Danny Galieot.

Hard to say with only a small portion shown… If it was tight laced then the laces would be touching without gaps in the back so I’m assuming it’s on snug but not unreasonably tight. Too loose and it’ll twist around and be offset if you do anything.

It’s also really dependent on corset design. There’s ones for sports/physical activity that have cupped ribs so your lungs can expand without restriction, with the way it is sewn lending more to core support rather than prioritizing silhouette.

There’s corsets specific to horseback riding as well that would fit the theme of cowgirl. They allow for the flexibility required to mount/dismount a horse whilst also supporting proper posture so you’re not jostling your spine around poorly.

The hat covers too much of the body for me to be able to tell really.

How do I get the damn cat to understand I can feed myself?

Well, this is the consequence of letting it outside unfortunately- on top of risk of injury and death but I’m sure y’all know that already. There’s not really an effective way to train them against this behaviour the way you might a dog.

So long as there’s critters outside the cat is going to hunt them. Maybe you could try to give the kitty a snag safe cat collar with a bell? It might alert the wildlife so they have time to avoid being caught.

Hair

Have my rambling thoughts!

Buying a brush pack is helpful in this circumstance unless you’re wanting to figure out how to do it yourself.

If you’re intent to use the same brush for everything then I would practice tracing over coiled hair to get a sense of how to move your brush. It also helps to watch videos of people with this hair type to see how the hair density changes with the lighting- at some angles it can actually look quite sparse compared to what you might expect in your minds eye.

I like to pull the small springs out of broken pens/mechanical pencils and take a bunch of pictures of them stretched out/bent at various angles since it kinda helps my brain focus on the shape by itself rather than being overwhelmed by HAIR.

You also don’t have to detail every single hair coil either- it’s most noticeable around the edges of the hair, framing the face, and wherever the light is brightest. It’s kind of like texturing trees or grass in that way.

Tbh what you have now looks like a good “base” that just needs more detailing. Could use a smaller brush to do a few highlight strokes or wisps of hair sticking out here and there. Some thicker parts could be faded into the skin colour more around the face.

Classic kitty

This but with play time at my house.

I peep my eyes open and suddenly the whole toy chest rattles open on top of me and I got pairs of glowing eyes staring intensely into my soul…

Moviegoers Love Their Local Indie Theaters, With New Survey Showing a Boom in Younger Audiences

I find the local indie theatres are much less of a sensory nightmare. Wide, comfy seats with dim warm lighting. No preroll ads. Sound is never so loud it hurts my ears and the screen is never so bright it hurts my eyes. People seem to love their job and are friendly and welcoming. Snacks and drinks are varied and reasonably priced. Tickets are reasonable too with student/senior discounts.

Plus they show all sorts of films, not just the newest ones! That’s honestly the biggest draw for me- seeing films from before my time on the format it was made for.

Why do doctors not seem to give a fuck about pain? Is this just an American doctor thing, or is it universal?

I live close to a few safe consumption sites so without seeing a study on this, this is just my observations.

There’s an increase of homeless people around (or perhaps they are more visible?) but since they have nowhere to go they get shifted around town by the police force every now and again. There seems to be a fair amount of violence amongst themselves as well, occasionally bleeding out into the general populace when we have big events nearby. I’ve also got friends from back in HS that went to these sites to “try” a variety of drugs they were curious about and now they’re full blown addicts that I don’t hear from anymore. Maybe they would have tried this stuff anyways but the whole draw for them was that it was “easy” and nobody would stop them.

Definitely aware of the YIMBY’s, I remember seeing their signs posted around before the sites went up, hence why the site got placed in my area despite not having the better infrastructure of the higher income neighbourhood nearby.

Not against safe consumption sites by any means it just feels like a bandaid on a festering wound situation. My neighbourhood safe consumption site hasn’t seemed to improve in the many years it’s been here- worsening conditions I’m chalking up to an increase in the general homeless population. The only time familiar faces seem to disappear is if they pass away.
