The supposed "ethical" limitations are getting out of hand

Reply in thread

People should point out flaws. OP obviously doesn’t need chatgpt to make this list either, they’re just interacting with it.

I will say it’s weird for OP to call it tiptoey and to be “really frustrated” though. It’s obvious why these measures exist and it’s goofy for it to have any impact on them. It’s a simple mistake and being “really frustrated” comes off as unnecessary outrage.

What the slippery slope did you just say to me you little strawman? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in appealing to emotion, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on loaded questions. I am trained in fallacy warfare and I'm the top debater in my entire high school. You are nothing to me but just another bandwagon. I will attack your character instead of engaging with your argument with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this site, mark my anecdotes. You think you can get away with making logically sound arguments over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak, I am contacting my secret network of trolls across the Internet and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for our fallacies, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call logic. You're no fucking scotsman, kid. I can be ambiguous anywhere, anytime, and I can derail your discussion in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my false cause. Not only am I extensively trained in irrational argumentation, but I have access to the entire arsenals of comments sections that I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable argument off this continent. If only you could have known what unholy middle ground your little "logical" argument was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking burden of proof. But you couldn't, you you didn't, and now you're begging the question, you black or white idiot. I will shit ad hominem all over you and you will appeal to nature in it. Tu quoque, kiddo.

It’s definitely normal for me at least, I have ADD though. Whenever I finish a chapter, it’s a must for me to skim it over again. I just read the first sentence or two of each paragraph and I move on when I have the order of the major events mapped out in my head. Recalling the order of what I’ve read helps me a ton when it comes to processing it.

I agree. I’m not here to argue that the limitations are perfect, they should definitely be refined and flaws should be pointed out such as in the post itself. But it’s important to recognize the reason that the limitations have been implemented on the heavier side are to compensate for the AI still being stupid. It’s a better safe than sorry approach and I would imagine these restrictions will gradually slacken as the AI improves.

You have a reasonable take that just wanted to remind people that there could still be improvements, but I just wanted to say this as there are people that exaggerate these inconveniences. I honestly appreciate the direct, involved approach I’m seeing from developers over the lazy, laid-back approach that I was really afraid of.

It’s when it happens in excess that it’s ADHD. ND disabilities (from my understanding I’m not a doctor) are typically normal things that everyone experiences that are happening in excess. Everyone fidgets with things, everyone’s mind wanders, it’s totally normal to be distracted, but when it’s frequent and severe enough to interrupt your daily obligations does it become a disability.

Are there any Reddit refugees spending more time on Lemmy than Reddit?

Im on Lemmy for 95% of stuff, only go back to Reddit for wikis on subreddits like r/AsianBeauty and r/BodyweightFitness. I don’t participate at all on there, I’m just there for the wiki. Huge transition tbh considering that l used Reddit for a lot of basic questions I had: cooking, fitness, career, etc etc. When I’m using it to answer questions as fundamental as those I’d say it used to play a huge role in my daily routine.

Welcome reddit refugees!

Awesome, it’s been forever since I’ve seen an online community that isn’t already established so it’s cool to participate in one that still growing. I’m using mobile so there are some bugs and I’m having trouble uploading an avatar, it lets me select the picture but it doesn’t look like it actually uploads it.
