Issues with All feed timing out

All systems seem operational per status and dash, but I have been unable to access page 2 and beyond on All sorted by New. I get flashing placeholders on the website, I get the error 'timeout' on my Android app (Boost).

What I've tried:

  • sorting New on All with an account from another instance (no timeout there)
  • sorting by something different than All (no issues)
  • logging out and back in again (timeout again)
  • trying a guest account (timeout again)
  • completely reset the app

Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

Central heating: is there any good way?

TL;DR: How do I make the thermostat send a 'heat' request to the boiler without making the boiler use way too much gas?

Hi all,

I have a question about automating central heating. My current setup:

Ground floor:

  • Main thermostat linked to boiler (Honeywell T6 on WiFi through Honeywell integration)
  • One radiator with Sonoff TRV-ZB, zigbee
  • Three radiators with non-smart knobs that are usually open
  • The main room has a Sonoff Presence sensor

First floor:

  • Three rooms that can be occupied with Sonoff TRV-ZBs.
  • Two of three rooms have Sonoff Presence sensors

All rooms that can be heated smartly are controlled through a blueprint once shared here called 'Advanced heating control V5'.

I have a helper called 'Comfort Temp' which is a slider that controls the setpoint on the main thermostat and the TRV of an occupied room.

So the obvious question is: is there any good way to get the main thermostat to send a heating request to the boiler?

I've seen something about a WiFi module that you can put in between the main thermostat and the boiler that offers more control (Nodo OpenTherm Gateway, OTGW). Does anyone have experience with this? Or do I solve this with more TRVs on my ground floor? I've heard about central heating systems not enjoying a fully thermostatic valved circuit. More TRVs also means I have to replace the valves on a couple of radiators.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Safety Razors are amazing

What's going on everyone? I just felt like sharing something that I find worth sharing.

I suffer pretty badly from eczema and I've been trying to deal with it for pretty much all my life. Ever since I started Dupilumab (it's a biological injection that tells my body to create a missing enzyme), it's been a lot quieter, except for... the face.

My dad taught me how to shave with a simple Gilette razor casette system, so that's what I have been using since I was around 16. I am now 32, and I have been using Boldking's razor system and that worked best for me. It was just a lot of work and kind of tedious. Plus it would give me a lot of inconsistent results. I would, however, deal with redness and spots in the face. I have also tried an electrical razor but that only seems to make the redness worse.

So last week I decided to give a safety razor a try, I ordered one and it arrived today. Had my shave just now and it just feels so much nicer.

I was still using foam from a can (also from Boldking since they don't use parabens), but I'm looking to upgrade to a better foam, with a brush.

So bottom line: one shave in and I'm sold. I am excited to experience the journey!

[Win9x/2000] Strategy-like/base builder first person game

Platform: Windows 9x/2000

Genre: Base builder/strategy

Hey all,

I kind of recall playing this game where you are a community of organic beings (I kinda recall them being four legged and the design was very block-y), they build 'hives' (I remember this term as a certainty) as their bases/barracks. I think the idea is that these beings do some exploring around the planet.

Sorry I don't have any more to go on, I was about 10 when I played this in the early zeroes.

Anyone have a clue?

Feel like I'm slipping (just a vent)

Hey welcome to my ramble of the day.

Lately I've been very aware of how every day I accomplish a little less and have more trouble getting through an evening without drinking.

Christmas is coming up and I'm spending it in Switzerland with my brother-in-law. All good, you'd say. Except both me and my wife are running on fumes. We are both super tired. We've discussed skipping it but we cannot do this to my mother-in-law. She doesn't often get both her kids together and she's had a rough year.

In any event, looking at my progress over the past few weeks I feel like I'm doing a little worse every day and just that realization is making me kind of depressed.

So before I get all kinds of recommendations, here's my current game plan:

  • I've registered with a psychologist (not in the USA so insurance is not an issue)
  • My employer knows of evening and they are very supportive. I haven't been working since beginning of September)
  • I intend to take it very easy in Switzerland and try to relax around the other days of Christmas as well. Beginning of January will be super chill for me.

Thanks for bearing with me. I really hope to improve in the next year.

Having bad moments vs having good moments

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to read. I've been feeling bad for some time now and figured now is a good a time as any to share.

I am having a pretty serious issue with activating myself lately. I've been sidelined from work since the beginning of September. In this time I've been speaking to several healthcare professionals and colleagues. I'm currently in the process of finding a therapist.

I've recently drawn the conclusion that I do not sometimes have bad days, I'm pretty much down every day but I have moments that I'm fine. The fine moments are getting more scarce though...

Today I am writing to you because my mind does not know what it wants. I can't decide if I wanna call my friends and have a beer or if I want to curl up on my bed and cry.

Anyway, that was what I wanted to share. Thanks for reading.

Headphone choice

cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/16623544

Hey all, I've narrowed it down to 3 options: AKG K371 (at €149) AKG K361 (at €104) AKG K182 (at €69)

Use case is just at my desk. I have CX Wireless for on the road and wireless listening.

I like a full low end and defined, crisp highs. I mostly listen to soft easy listening like Mazzy Star or rougher rock bands like Evanescence, Bad Omens etc. I also listen to melodic electronic music.

I've read a lot of reviews and I can't really decide on the soundstage. For this I've chosen AKG because I have the K512 mk2's now and I've been very pleased with them.

As for comfort, I need them not to clamp after an hour or two. I don't mind having to pause every now and then.

Any other recommendations welcome.

But bottom line, I think 69 for the K182 is a great deal even though the K3x1s might be better cans.

Green or red? Mid-range gpu decisions

Looking to upgrade my trusty 1070Ti. I use my pc for RPGs (Borderlands, Hogwarts Legacy) , VR fps (Alyx, Arizona Sunshine) and VR simracing (F1 23).

Deciding between ASUS Dual 4070 (@ €600) or ASUS TUF 7800XT.

Benchmarks don't really tell the whole story because they rarely include DLSS3, but the games I play don't really support that anyway. TUF is a better cooler, but bulkier.

I can also just not buy anything and wait for the 4070 Super to come along.

Thoughts?
