There is an enormous amount of evidence to disprove the idea that liberals will always support fascism. Fascism explicitly rejected liberal democracy, individual rights, and political pluralism. Liberals were among those persecuted by fascist regimes, and liberal democracies were instrumental in defeating said fascist regimes.

Never understood the lengths some Lemmy users go to describe liberalism in these ways. It's just as bad when people do the same thing towards ideologies such as communism

Why is it that people who talk about concepts like capitalism assume a bunch of information about you based on a complete lack of information? Is the idea the only reason I'm not anti capitalist must either be because a) I'm rich (extremely far from the truth), or b) I'm especially susceptible to propaganda? (Which would be weird... Otherwise why would I be using Lemmy in the first place when perhaps capitalism instead suggests I should be using Reddit).
