Minister Josh Simons resigns after Labour Together claims

Absolutely fantastic job from Democracy for Sale 👏👏👏

https://democracyforsale.substack.com/p/exclusive-morgan-mcsweeneys-labour-together-investigators-journalists

They were the ones who originally reported that Josh Simons broke the law. The Guardian and other papers only quoted them.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2026/feb/06/labour-thinktank-close-to-morgan-mcsweeney-allegedly-paid-firm-to-investigate-journalists

Congratulations. Democracy for Sale just took down a powerful politician from office. Quality journalism matters.

Parliament to Debate Israeli Influence in UK Politics After 116k Sign Petition

The single most influential individual in UK Politics is actually a foreigner.

Sir John said he was advised before the election that he “ought to try to make some effort to get closer to the Murdoch press and I agreed that I would write Mr Murdoch to dinner”.

He added: “In the dinner it became apparent in discussion that Mr Murdoch said that he really didn’t like our European policies… and he wished me to change our European policies.

“It is not very often someone sits in front of a prime minister and says, ‘I would like you to change your policy and if you do not change your policy our organisation cannot support you’.”

This was the headline of Murdoch's Sun right before the Brexit Referendum :

(She never said any of this).

To quote UKIP's leader Nigel Farage:

"Without Rupert Murdoch, there would have been no Brexit"

This dude is openly threatening the Prime Minister and spreading fake news.

People are concerned about russian, indian, saudi, chinese influence depending on their politics. Foreign interference is actually happening right under their nose.

It's just that no one cares because Rupert Murdoch is Australian.

Guardian joins media coalition to protect original journalism from unpaid use by AI

I love Carole Cadwalladr but don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

1. Most of The Guardian funding comes from readers. I give money every year. But readers only aren't enough to sustain it. They also need to look for other revenue sources.

2. There is no evidence that she was fired specifically because Open AI requested it. That would be a major scandal and the entire newsroom would revolt.

3. The Guardian remains an excellent newspaper. They won more journalism awards than any other UK paper.

Police probe 'death to IDF' chants led by Bobby Vylan at al-Quds rally

Quds Day = Iran Day

For centuries, the Iranian elites have been very self-conscious about the fact they are only shia country. Most muslim countries are sunni. Shias are the black sheep of the muslim world. The genius of the Ayatollah regime was to invent Quds Day (Jerusalem Day).

Here is how that works.

On Quds Day, in every city in Iran, government officials organize street protests. They ask military families and civil servants to protest in the streets. Everyone is to wave Iranian flags and scream "Death to Israel". They also burn Israeli flags and say stuff like "Soon, Jerusalem will be back in muslim hands thanks to Iran". Most Iranians don't speak arabic, but the government prints signs in arabic.

Around the islamic world, many people love that shit. It's basically religious porn. The Pakistani taxi driver or your factory worker in Egypt sees these Quds day vids on facebook. His immediate reaction? "Wow...Iran is so wonderful :3" or "Mashallah, I fucking love Iran"

It's the one political trick that Iranian elites found to become popular in the sunni world. They desperately want to be admired/respected by sunnis. If Israel didn't exist, these people would want to invent it.

If they were really honest, they would not call it Quds Day. They would call it Iranian soft-power day.

Legal challenge launched against the IHRA definition of antisemitism in British court

1. Ranjeet Brar is not just a random doctor. He is a politician. He is the general secretary of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist).

2. He is not a peace activist. His party praised Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine. He is also not against Genocide. He publically said that he is fine with Genocide, as long as Israelis are the targets.

3. The Middle East Monitor is an extremely controversial media organization

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Middle_East_Monitor

They regularly publish absolute non-sense.

For instance, they said Israel flooded Gaza by open dam gates:

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20221227-israel-floods-gaza-after-opening-dam-gates/

Except there is no dam at all in Gaza or Southern Israel.

I want free elections for Palestinians. You only want free elections for Brits.

Both Hamas and Mahmoud Abbas are not legitimate anymore. They both banned elections. They both use thugs to beat up critics. How is that different than Israeli settlers? There needs to be new elections. Until then, as long as they use violence to repress critics, they are not legitimate.

I want free elections so the Palestinian people can democratically decide their leadership.

You want to impose leadership on them. That's the difference between us.

Hamas was elected in 2005. Then they banned all elections.

From 2005 to 2024, Gaza was devastated by 4 bloody wars.

Did you experience those wars? Or are you sitting on your ass praising palestinians getting bombed because of an organization that denies them the right to free elections?
