Hello from Spokane, where we were literally off the chart yesterday! (AQI of 511 out of 500!) I went outside for five minutes to water the garden and my eyes were stinging and teary for a while afterwards.

Can't stop thinking about it every waking moment. I have put off many household chores just to eke a few more minutes of gameplay out. It's a massive accomplishment of a game with a few bugs, but still an incredible and well deserved achievement for Larian.

I am a little worried because it felt like I had to poke into everything in Act 1 to get enough XP to get to Act 2. Hopefully the outcomes are different enough to make replaying interesting, because I know I want to do several playthroughs.

Interesting! I think the companion classes affect the player class choice a lot. Paladin, Bard, and Sorc are all classes that no companion has, which also make good face characters. And nobody needs two Clerics, Shadowheart has you covered.

I'd say the most important thing is knowing who your NPCs are and what they want. That's what you should prepare outside of sessions. Once you have that, it's a lot easier to deal with players throwing curveballs.

A constrained scope helps as well. Give the group a prompt like "make characters who want revenge on the Lich Queen" or "make characters who care about the city of Korvosa."

Unfortunately, I don't think you can. You can’t remove custom characters from your party, and you can't manage companions' inventory unless they are in the party.

It sounds like you want a pothos! Golden pothos is the most easily available, but it also comes in other fun colors that are a bit rarer (like neon green or white/green variegated). It doesn't need a lot of light or water and grows vigorously.

I'm not a fan of succulents as "beginner" plants, since they require SO much light. It's a lot easier to give a plant more water than more light.

Other plants you might try are snake plant, ZZ plant, spider plant, or a hoya.

Be aware that many houseplants are mildly toxic to pets, so keep them out of reach.

Summoners are not bad. I have a Summoner in my current game and the character meaningfully contributes to damage, scouting, and utility. He tends to burn through his HP quickly with the larger attack exposure of two characters, but that's why they have 10HP per level.

It's a complex class, and the Summoner will never top DPR calculations or out-cast a Sorcerer, but they can flex into martial and caster roles as needed. Wave casting still lets you use staves, so they are even more essential to a Summoner to get the most out of their limited spell slots. Eidolons can also roll their own skill checks, which expands the utility of the party.

The main draw for Summoner is being the peak of all pet classes and it delivers on that fantasy very well. If you want to have a demon or dragon or whatever, this is the class. That the class works without making Summoner as OP as PF1 or completely useless is pretty amazing.
