Just to piggyback off of this/give an example of good usage of early access: to me BG3 was great usage of early access. It stayed there for a long time and actually used the early access to get player feedback to improve the game. When the game finally released the only dlc they had was given for free to everyone who played early access, and it doesn't really change the gameplay experience at all, it was only stuff like an art book and some references to their older game.

BioShock creator says "audiences reward" single-player games that don't have "other methods of monetization," like Baldur's Gate 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

I will point out that this is mainly just a way to get the free preorder bonus though, and has no real gameplay effects. The dlc also contains a digital artbook, digital soundtrack and some character sheets. I feel like that is quite a bit more than the normal micro transactions, though I still somewhat see your point

It's ritual cast just like speak with animals. That means that if you use it outside of combat (where it's probably more useful) then it doesn't cost a spellslot

I would like to see a cartoon of comic of a relationship between a gardevoir and a hatterene trying to keep their payduck stable. According to their Pokédex entries gardevoir will find people with strong emotions and try to help and console them, meanwhile hatterene will also find them but will instead violently silence them
