Federal Workers Can’t Get the White House’s App Off Their Phones

Reply in thread

Company before my last provided phones as they were super paranoid about 3rd part software. Righty so as its a huge telecom company. Wasn't a great phone, it pissed me off more that I had to carry 2 phones when on call/at work.

Next company is 2x times bigger and known to the worst in my field. I needed a quick job and the shit started from day 1. I didn't last 6 months. But I did keep them off my phone, even thought it was tech obsolescence that kept them off :)

And the killer bit was the company owns a cellphone company! No freebee's in fact the 1st couple of months there my boss or higher up bosses would send me emails to switch over to them. Dickhead that owns the company wanted 100% of the employees to be subscribers.

Fuck that lol

Canada rejected more than half of all World Cup visitor applications

Reply in thread

Oh its worse you want to be able to enter Canada w/ a prior DUI you can if you pay around $10k usd for a government pardon.

And with the 10k spent doesn't guarantee they will approve and will keep the money... So kiddo's don't get a DUI if you want to go to Canada.

As for a simple DUI in the US its a minor crime. If you hit aggravated DUI you catch a felony and you're fucked.

Aggravated is a high BAC, minor in the car, DUI crash with or without injuries, excessive speed while under the influence.

There are more, the Police have plenty of ways to burn you hard if you are do something this stupid.

I know so much as my buddy would bitch up a storm about us going up to go fishing and he can't go.

Federal Workers Can’t Get the White House’s App Off Their Phones

My old job tried this w/ my personal cell phone (for logging in). I told them where to go with that. Then they threatened a layoff, so I had to relent while I looked for another job. Turns out my phone was too old to support the software.

They can't force me to upgrade and they were too cheap to buy me a new phone. They found a work around real quick as I couldn't do my job and they had to double me up w/ a coworker (OT). less then 24hrs later I was back on the network. And quit a few months later.

IT people were beside themselves, they were "you don't upgrade your phone ever new release" I was like F that noise I climb antenna's for a living, at no point to I need the latest and greatest to be an antenna monkey.

Accidental Reddit ban evasion ban help?

Just happened to me, but mine was no fault of my own. Buddy was using my wifi and commented in a sub I'm banned in.

His account got banned and 4 of my other accounts got the B& hammer. I appealed but I doubt the will reverse.

With a VPN, I have no idea how they can see round the VPN as I log out, change my location, then log into another account.

(I have multiple accounts as I like to keep politics/hobbies/local subs/and NSFW all separate. Been doxxed more than once.)

I was permabanned from Reddit; I still don't know why

Reply in thread

Now they have some time type of ban detection. I use a VPN and bounce between logging into my different accounts.

Not for ban evasion but for doxxing, I don't post personal info on my politics account, my hobby accounts are pretty open, etc.

I pissed off somebody and the sub reddit banned me. I go thru and filter that sub out of my accounts. Didnt think about other people using my wifi.

Buddy comes over and posts a single post in that sub. His account and ALL of my accounts are now permabanned.

The reason I know is they AI mod replied then deleted a post about ban evasion to him, so he knew the comment he made on what sub and we pieced it together.

The rest of the msgs I got from reddit made no sense as I didn't post in the sub and until he mentioned the reply it all came together.

I would like to know how they are tracking me as use a VPN. Kinda makes it useless if it doesn't work as advertised.

Tesla Hackers Find ‘Unpatchable’ Jailbreak to Unlock Paid Features for Free

This how people are gonna find out how bad of an idea to allow the manufacturer to have that much control over your car after purchase. Tesla will shut their cars off if they find them jail breaked.

Just like the guy that wasn't allowed to fix the cooling hose on the battery Tesla's only option was to replace it. A third party fixed it but he still had concerns that they would shut it off (citing safety) because he wouldn't buy a whole new battery after he fixed it. Also barring him from quick charge stations was another concern.

Leaked messages show Amazon will force a 'voluntary resignation' on employees failing to relocate near their team 'hubs'

I had this exact thing happen to me, they wanted me to move from a tax free state to LA. I said no and they came back we promised your position to another employee. I said ok I need at least a 50% raise to counter the cost of living and taxes. They balked and thought they could push me into it. I stood my ground to stay in my current position and they had to fire me, which looks bad on them as I had no infractions.

I collected, didn't have to pay back my relocation (over 20k) and had a job that I pushed off until near end of unemployment. Thanks for the free long vacation! I went to China and HK (this is before the chaos) for a few months
