Twitter silently removes login requirement for viewing tweets

This feels like an extremely basic thing to miss. Something 10 seconds of thought would have fixed.

The problem with not voting
My voting strategy is super easy. You don't need to keep up with politics or policy. Just see who the KKK is voting for and then vote for the other guy.

Anon wipes his ass
Obligatory bidet comment. You don't have to wipe like you're trying to get peanut butter out of carpet. All shits become the same with a bidet, whether a short sticky stoagie or a hot wet mess of diarrhea. Imagine trying to clean a mud snowman off your driveway with a pressure washer. It can do anything.

That was me. Leave the house at 8 AM, get home after midnight, every place pressuring you to eat a full large meal and why you gotta leave soooo early.

YSK: Installing a bidet attachment to your toilet is super easy and probably cleaner than using toilet paper.
There are about a million people here all saying the same thing. It’s amazing, it’s better than you think, and once you use one, you will never ever go back.
It’s all true. When you poop in a public restroom or at a friends house without one, you will feel tainted.
In the winter if you’re worried about cold water, you should know the anus is not very temperature sensitive. I suppose because in our evolutionary past we did not use our anus much to sense the temperature of objects.

I do this with Inoreader. I subscribe to the Top Week RSS for each subreddit. It looks like this: https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/top/.rss?t=week
This cuts down my usage to only the most important/popular topics. It helps me waste less time and gets rid of the addicted feeling where you're sitting there refreshing the front page seeing the same things you saw five minutes ago repeatedly.
Because I know there's only going to be 'x' number of posts each day from each Reddit I find myself engaging with them more carefully, more mindfully. And when the feed runs out, I go read a book or do something else. It's very freeing. I'm setting up Lemmy to be the same.

Confession. I wrote a lot of fake stories on Reddit.

You got me. I am actually the real account for all of this. I thought I would make a fictional post explaining that all my stories were fictional, but they were all actually real. I hope we can start a blank slate from now on. I'm afraid I'm gonna have to come clean. I am not actually the person with the original account making a fictional account to explain my real stories that turned out to be fictional but are actually real (but in reality aren't). I am the former /r/jailbait moderator Spez.

For everyone new to Lemmy, how are you finding the experience?

It feels like my experience on Mastodon after Twitter imploded. Hopefully it lasts.

Why Everyone Should Still Use an RSS Reader in 2024
I love TinyTinyRSS (self hosted) and lire for iOS which syncs with it. Very powerful setup. I have issues with overusing social media sites so I have sites like Lemmy do the "Top Week" and so on for areas I'm interested in.

Anon is struck by the state of the education system

Definitely real, I did it in the 90s and hated it. You don't take your shirt off, you keep your arms in, but you raise the front behind your neck so it all bunches up at the top. I was chubby then and that was definitely a core memory of self-consciousness.

You choose, even when you don't vote
Reply in thread
Everybody knows this. We’re just asking people to make the best choice given the circumstance. A protest vote against Harris isn’t going to teach them anything, a loss isn’t going to teach them anything. We’ll be left with a situation worse than we are in now.

I bought a 49” super ultrawide to replace my dual monitor setup and I found while 32:9 gaming I still wanted to watch fullscreen videos so I added back my 27”. Might add back my other 27” so I can do fullscreen discord/other stuff. Lemme tell you, SUW absolutely ruins a person.
