"Let's go Brandon!" Bumper stickers.

Why are scammers so extra?
They're extra because they're not going for the smart fish. They're targeting the dumb fish.

Rich Lives matter
If these dumbasses have enough money to drop on a ticket aboard this sub to look at something you can see on a documentary, they should also have to foot the bill for the rescue mission. I'm sure all these rescue programs are tax funded that they dodge themselves. So, not only are they squirreling and eating up money we could all be using, but now we're picking up the check.

Those of you who shower barehanded: Do you lather and then use your hand, or just shove the soap wherever it needs to go?
That soap does what it's told or it gets the hose again.

If you could have one small thing as a superpower. What would it be and why?
Not quite mind control, but I'd like the ability to blast common sense into morons minds by looking at them. Like a psychic mind dart that says, "maybe this line has a purpose and I should get in queue instead of trying to force my way in from the outside" or "maybe I should listen to the sign that says 'don't put your kid on a railing above tiger enclosure.'"

Fact!
At least otters don't sexually harass underage girls via whiny text message. I'll take the otter over Drake any day!

Redditors brigading against Lemmy
The comments/replies to my comments that really chapped my ass were when someone was defending ads and trying to claim they didn't even know there were third party apps and we were just being babies. I don't want to have to watch two unskippable ads like YouTube just to see a meme or comment in an AskReddit or be bombarded with gas pill ads between every front page post because I typed "why am I farting more than normal?" In a toolbar five years ago, and I'm not being a baby because I don't want to give up my working product for a shit alternative that turns me into a product. I feel like Reddit is Pied Piper from 'Silicon Valley' where they hired a shit load of trolls in an office in New Delhi to gaslight us and drive up support for a highly disliked business path.

Be honest, do you still use reddit?
Completely out and I had RIF for at least eleven years. They got rid of a part of me; I don't want shit to do with the site anymore. I'd also be out of Facebook if it weren't for messenger. I look to Lemmy for updates on the dumpster fire that is Reddit now.

Reddit protesters: How are you spending the blackout?
I feel like Reddit is a big basket of candy and goodies and I'm just sitting here staring at it telling myself not to touch. I've spent the time away by listening to podcasts and spending more time outside gardening and reading actual books and not a screen. It's really rewarding and freeing, but I miss interacting with a community so I'm glad to have been directed to Lemmy.

Why do so many tech companies, like Reddit and Twitter are making their platforms worse for their users all of a sudden?
Reply in thread
Your metaphor reminded me of killing vampires in Skyrim and it made me smile as I also feel a deep sorrow from the fact all major companies now are racing to the bottom while leaving their skidmarks on everything I used to love.

What’s worse, loud farts or rank farts?
Rank for sure. Loud farts are funny. Rank are disturbing.

Not Just Third-Party Apps: Reddit Experimenting with restricting logged in access for mobile web users...
Reply in thread
This shit would drive me nuts. My friends and I would send each other links we found on Reddit through messenger or text and when I would get one, it would take me to a blurred view of the page and tell me to view it on their app. I would back right out, go on RedditIsFun, and search the title of the post there. To stop this from happening to people I sent to, I'd just take a screenshot of the meme and send it in a group chat and say I saw it on r/whatever. If you force me to use your broken shit, I'll send that meme in a fax out of spite if I have to.

Update from Lemmy after the Reddit blackout
Reply in thread
Agreed! I love the laid back feel of this community and not all the hostility you see everywhere else. With growth comes change though, so I hope the spirit of this group endures.

You can only drink one drink for the rest of your life, but it cannot be water. What do you pick?
Cranberry juice. It has antioxidants!

Haha! Love the description of him after the quote!

What would you do if you won the lottery?
I'd finally donate to Wikipedia. And NPR. So much so that both of them won't have to ever ask me for money ever again.

His very touch in public repulses her, he just got his ass handed to him about the Stormy Daniels case where he banged her while his current wife just had his baby, and she refused to live with him in the white house. Get the popcorn boys, my heart is melting like butter too.
