Empress forgot to take her meds again
This is why I don't trust her releases. God knows what she'll put in them to try and get at her "enemies" during some psychotic episode.

repost: Should r/Piracy continue protesting?
I can't read comments over there anymore, they've become some of the biggest bootlickers on the site. Moving to Lemmy was a very effective way to filter out all the dipshits.

Why exactly did the android community's mods decide to basically leave world?

I get the feeling that you don't understand that you don't need to sign up at the other instance to subscribe to the community. You can just click the link and subscribe from your current account, and everything will be as it was.

What does the F in the expression "F in the chat" stands for?
It comes from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare where you could interact with a casket in a funeral scene by pressing F.
"Press F to pay respects" was widely ridiculed and became a meme

🙄 "Saying slurs on a private forum is mah god-given right!"
There's plenty to criticize about Twitter and Threads, but the unmoderated parts of the internet are cancer.
Also pretending that Elon doesn't remove things he doesn't like is a joke.

Maybe if the police stopped playing so many violent video games, they would stop shooting kids.

given how little one vote matter, it seems to me that stripping felons of their right to vote is both petty and counterproductive if the point was to reform them into civic minded individuals ?

The US is nuts. You can vote from prison in Canada

[Rant] The people - or rather the attitude - of r/piracy
So much irony especially coming from a piracy sub. You'd think pirates would support decentralized communities. It's also just another example of reddit's complete inability to understand how protests work; they're supposed to be an inconvenience, that's literally the point.
Oh well, I'm kinda glad a lot of them are staying there, there's a noticable lack of toxicity here vs. reddit. I just hope the decent ones will make their way over.

A lot of what she says is purposefully dogwhistle-y, but she does like to equate trans-women with rapists a lot. She also actively funds anti-trans organizations and been outspoken that trans-women are not women, which is inherently hateful.
This is a Vox article recording her transphobic actions over the years
EDIT: Hit send before I was done typing.
EDIT 2: I think OP is purposely pot-stirring and looking for a 'gotcha'. This is probably a violation of rule 5

Has a Famous Person Done an AMA on Lemmy Yet? If Not, Who Do You Think Will Be the First?
It'd be cool to see Technology Connections. He's pretty active on Mastodon, I've seen him pop up in a thread here via there.
Also Louis Rossmann. He does AMAs like every other day on YouTube, he might be open to checking out another platform.

What data about me could Lemmy hackers steal?

My paranoia about data breaches has gone down so much since I started using email aliases and a password manager

Twitter/Threads
Not that I'm a fan of either of them, but the idea that moderation=censorship is so braindead.
Also pebbleyeet is a nazi.

What do you consider "good performance" of a game on the deck?
30 fps and low graphics ia good by me. I grew up with old consoles, having something like Cyberpunk running on a handheld is insane to me.
I honestly don't get the whole "120fps 4K or literally unplayable" mindset. Ill notice the difference in a side-by-side, but other than that as long as theres little to no lag its perfectly fine.

Yeah man, black people going to college is right up there with chattel slavery and putting people in concentration camps. The great injustice of our times.

What are the bad patterns of Reddit to never repeat on Lemmy?

Trying to get people to use downvotes "properly" is a losing battle. Regardless of its original purpose it is, and always has been, a dislike button.

What stupid conspiracy theories do you think will come out of the missing submarine?
Reply in thread
Not inherently a problem no, but the one they were using was wireless, and apparently reviews were full of connectivity issues. You'd think they'd pick something proven and reliable, like an official wired Xbox controller.
