Any hot takes or opinions you have on Warframe?

That's a smart way to go about it. I love shotguns and tanking, but when I helped out a buddy starting out he couldn't stand Rhino. I've talked about circuit in another post, it really helps out the new player experience I think, just due to the accessibility of it and getting new frames.

I appreciate your well thought out reply on this too, thank you

Weekly(?) Warframe:Excalibur

Personally I am a big fan of Excalibur, I first played in 2014 and of course he was my first frame. I started playing again in 2020 or so with a new account and went with my boy again, I was very happy with Umbra whenever I did his storyline

Which frame should be my first?

I agree with some of the other comments, Rhino is great but his survivability can end up being a crutch as far as playing other frames and keeping them alive. I recommend Nekros because the extra resources is nice and he's one of my personal favorites but if you want to be tanky Rhino is the frame for you

Like Keegan said above time has not been kind to the poor guy, he falls off pretty hard in end game content. Of course he can do fine like any frame, but I hard agree with the lack of scaling.

I really wish they improved his mobility at least, sprint speed of 0.95 feels so slow

If I could make one change, I think his abilities need more scaling. Enough so ice wave and Avalanche can regularly kill things without 300% strength and globe can tank as well as Gara's wall
