What was your "I can't believe I have to explain this to an adult" moment?
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned tax brackets.
I laughed my ass off when my racist uncle smugly explained that he turned down a raise, because that would put him in an upper tax rate and cost him more money than the raise was worth.
Tried to explain how income tax works. Didn't go through that thick skull of his.

She was also sentenced to 4 years in prison (2 suspended) and a 100k€ fine.
But she will (already has?) appeal this ruling. The ineligibity, however, was ruled to be immediate, even while the trail is awaiting appeal.

Why aren't there mass protests in the USA?

That being said, if you have a hard time getting the word out on your protests, then the suppression is working.
Publicizing your actions is part of the protest.

It gets your mouse closer to the actual keyboard.
When you let go of the keyboard to get your mouse with a full, you have to go over to the numpad, even though you don't use it very often. It puts your right hand in a position that's not very natural, at least to me.
