Missing votes sat on their scroats and threw the election to Hitler.

I mean, Harris and the Dems didn't even try, like seriously. Getting Beyonce and all the other celebrities our fellow moronic Americans already see as members of the illuminati is not trying, it's literally the opposite

I mean, they spent $50m+ in fuckin Ohio! We lost fuckin Georgia while they were jerking off Cheney's and trying to convince white folks in the suburbs not to be who they are

It's legit insane to see the party straightup abandon working class demographics. Then again, this is the same party that now literally spends millions of dollars each primary on getting votes for Republican politicians

Anyone else feel like giving fascists power makes us kinda like stupid af?

Idk, can't help but see how pathetic it is to consider this something to be proud of. It's like saying, "see, I finished everything on my plate!" when your plate was full of trash and shit when you relatively early could've said I'm not eating that /

I just looked her up on Wikipedia. It seems she secured the nomination without being contested. Idk, feels like as progressives we should take some responsibility if no one even ran against her. Giving up isn't virtuous

I keep seeing this BS getting spread so here's an actual quote from one of the justices on the SC.

Sotomayor warned that the ruling "will have disastrous consequences for the Presidency and for our democracy" and that it sends the message: “Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his official power for evil ends.”

She added, “Even if these nightmare scenarios never play out, and I pray they never do, the damage has been done. The relationship between the President and the people he serves has shifted irrevocably. In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.

I have no idea why so many people from the reddit/lemmy demographic feel compelled to downplay and "well akshully" this shit. People should be in the streets burning shit right now. Or we could just wait and see, I guess

That's fuckin insane. I had no idea it couldn't even do that. The crazier thing is looking it up and seeing all the fanboys defending this as actually a good thing

Do y'all talk to people day-to-day?

I hear a lot of anti immigrant rhetoric from my immigrant aunts and my more "trashy" or low-class friends (all kids of immigrants)

I've been saying this for more than a decade now, before bots became such a huge thing (I think), if YouTube comments are any reflection of the average person/American, we're so beyond fucked. I absolutely do not practice cynicism

I'm a millennial as well but that's still insane to me. Even saying that about smash mouth seems insane to me - they were both well-known popular songs that just happened to play during the movie
