This is a very soft loaf. Usually they come out a little denser. I am playing with the baking time to soften the bottom crust and this soft crumb is a delightful surprise.

Recipe:

300 grams bread flour

150 grams wheat flour

15 grams yeast

30 grams salt

25 grams diastatic malt powder (optional)

Toasted sesame seeds to top (optional)

1.5 cups water (78% hydration? First time paying attention to that percentage to be honest.)

I made the dough yesterday afternoon and put it in the fridge overnight. (I actually made a double batch so another loaf is fermenting further.)

Took it out at 9am, at noon I shaped it and put it in the oven with the light on to rise. At 3pm I took it out and preheated the oven to 450 with a cast iron loaf pan in to heat.

Then I put the seeds on, transferred from a normal loaf pan with parchment paper to the heated pan and scored the loaf.

Baked for 26 minutes with the lid on the 5 more with the lid off.

So here's my concept:

I want to take the SCP story 'What Happened to Site 13' and make a Delta Green campaign out of it. (I think the story is well worth the read.)

Then I want to run my players through it, and in the end the site is transported to another world.

Then the end state would be translated to a D&D 5e campaign, and they'd have to clean up their messes as heroes.

Pathfinder and GURPS also come to mind as good options but I am open here. I also run my games through FoundryVTT, so games supported there are ideal for me. That said, I am still open to other systems for the translation. Shadowrun could be brutally fun.

I see four big problems:

1. A ton of work. Yes, but the end result would be publishable, I think. Even if for free, people might love it.

2. The genre mishmash will not work. That very well could be.

3. I am shoehorning the players into a solution in the Delta Green side, contrary to how these games work. Alternate solutions need to be viable. I don't have an answer here.

4. I have never played Delta Green at all. So I am putting this idea out here for people to poke holes in or offer ideas.

Any thoughts, ideas, pointers, admonishments, etc?

Came up with that in the shower on Monday. We recently adopted an eight year old golden retriever with severe anxiety issues who was scheduled to be put down.

Her old dad died a couple of years ago and she never got over it. My wife Amy (double bonus song reference, although she doesn't appreciate me renaming her song) thought giving her a hard reset in a new home might work.

And it has, she is fantastic, and even my cats like her.

We were all prepared for an anxious dog and got standard Labrador problems instead!

Hey all, I'm that relative normie up in Duluth, Minnesota, who took in Keris a year and a half ago, and I need help finding a new and safer place for them to go.

First and foremost, this is not a plea for money, and if anyone has such offers they should go directly to Keris.

Bluntly, my wife is done with us having a houseguest, which is totally understandable, so I don't want to point fingers but make it understood that we aren't fishing for cash.

So on to Keris. They're non-binary, in their 30s, and mostly keep to themselves. I like hanging out with them, as nerds we get along. They're clean, quiet, considerate, and basically just need a safe place with their own room and preferably bathroom. Cat friendly is a massive plus.

I'm looking for ideas and offers of help. They do not have a job and do have some Minnesota state benefits, but not much money saved. I'll answer any other questions in comments or privately.

Personally, I think getting them out of the country is best, and would be able to get them to Canada if that's of any help. But stateside offers of help are also appreciated.

I now add a tablespoon of diastatic malt powder and knead it a fair bit for the 2-3 hour version.

Baked at 450F for 30 minutes top on, 5 off.

The browning on the bottom (in the comments) is not burning but delicious caramelization. The diastatic malt powder causes the crust to brown with sugars.

Will add a picture of crumb once it is fully cooled.

Best pizza I've made yet. Diastatic malt powder is a real game changer.

I was honestly curious if there was a link between the two terms, not a scientific one.

That said the number of participants in the study makes it a little questionable.

I'm a 50 year old dude, never cared about sports. But my wife got into PWHL last year and I started watching with her.

It doesn't have the toxicity that I've seen in so many male dominated sports. We're Minnesotans, so of course we support Frost.

Late last season we were watching a game and while the game was tied, our (Minnesota, not yet called Frost) team wasn't making as many shots on goals as they usually did, and I said that.

"What's going on? Why is Minnesota lagging in shots on goal... WHAT THE HELL HAVE YOU DONE TO ME, I'M MAKING OBSERVATIONS ABOUT SPORTS STATISTICS!!"

Hey all, I'm a cis ally in the upper Midwest of the USA. I offered a room to Keris a while back and she accepted.

She got here Wednesday night and things are going very well. She likes me, my wife, and our cats and one dog, and is learning to tolerate the other.

She has an attic bedroom that is her space alone.

She has time to unwind and figure out what she wants to do without fear of being dumped on the streets.

I just wanted to let you all know that we have taken her in and that she is safe and loved.

I've been a fan of They Might Be Giants for most of my life and have always been surprised that people universally disagree with me on this.

Linnell's songs tend to be quirkier but also shallower. (State Songs is a good example here - there isnt a song for every state and theyre often abstract to the point of meaninglessness. I expected such a project to have more inspiration behind it.

I've always found Flansburgh's more melodic and thoughtful, slightly better composed, and with a superior singing voice.

Of course they're a great duo and they play off each other's strengths. I don't dislike Linnell at all, just the songs that he sings tend to not be my favorites.
