Women are less likely to receive CPR in public than men: Study

One time, I put my hand out to stop a kid from running into the street.

Most people were like "Woah that kid almost died." But one Karen looking woman had a "How dare you touch that child" look.

I'm not going to stop saving kids who run into the street. But it did make me question when to involve myself or not. And I can see a lot of people hesitating because some fuckface has something stupid to say.

Oh her tears are delicious.

“I was called a lot of things and had a lot of leftist hit pieces trying to destroy my credibility while I represented Trump,” she wrote on Twitter yesterday. “But I never saw a media outlet or journo use the blatant sexism & vulgarity that ‘MAGA influencers’ do now. And I don’t even work for DeSantis.”

Dad shows a gun to show OP he's a badass. Op doesn't realize and shows his gun.

Common American culture is that you're supposed to show your gun on the third date with the family, not the first. You're also supposed to have a Mexican standoff when you walk into the house, with dad aiming at you, you're aiming at dad, dog aims at GF, etc. And if he's lucky, they have a rousing game of Russian roulette before tapas.

Totally understandable if you didn't know. Just basic 2A knowledge every American learns about during elementary school.

As a person who works in server hosting (not as devops or IT), I'm often privy to customer interactions. I feel like my company does a really good job at damage control - where if we fuck up, some rep gets on the phone and makes things right. We've eaten costs on behalf of our customers.

But sometimes, you just gotta tell a customer to go fuck themselves.

And those customers, those biggest complainers are often in online gambling, crypto, adult content, or racist shit.

We get DDos'd a lot from it. But I'm glad the company I work for doesn't bow down to garbage companies.

She Made an Offer on a Condo. Then the Seller Learned She Was Black.

Not surprised. My wife passes for white. I don't.

When we went house hunting, we thought it would be a good idea if we toured separately.

The realtor showed me a nice place and said, "It's pretty popular for the urban demographic." Whatever the fuck that meant. Apparently the wife also toured the same place, where the agent said that this isn't an area to raise children." And wouldn't explain what she meant by that.

'whites only' job posting

This was definitely a trigger for me.

A few years ago, I had some great email exchanges about a position. I was an experienced dev, and I knew what they were looking for. But to make it official, I had to go through their HR person.

This was the first time I was going to talk to someone from the company, live in a video call.

And the moment we jumped on a call, her first words were, "Do you have a green card?"

I was born here. One look at my skin color and that was her question.

One dead baby, a tragedy.

Two dead babies, a concern.

Fourteen dead babies, I don't care about her. She's fucked. But what fucking hospital has 14 dead babies? Are you saying you cant identify a pattern after 4 or 5?

The heads of the hospital should be gutted.

Call that place "The dead baby hospital" because wtf.

After 23 years, developer reveals he snuck a cheat code past Sony that turns a cult-classic horror game into a godsend for retro enthusiasts

To be clear, when a developer submits a finished game for publication, it's supposed to reveal all of its cheat codes, but this particular one was never disclosed for the simple reason that Sony would've undoubtedly kicked it back to development for removal. Apparently, Piper isn't too worried about letting his secret out into the wild more than two decades later.

There's a bunch of debug/dev features hidden in production software that I stay quiet with from companies i worked for. Revealing them would probably make me unemployable. Or worse, slapped with a lawsuit.

So I'm glad this guy was probably retiring or switching careers.

Get your vote in now!!

I shared this before.

If you were a person of color, having Uber and Airbnb were a game changer. Taxis and hotels were awful from the 80s-2010s.

Taxis were racists and often wouldn't even pick you up. If they did, they often took you on a joyride. Hotels were absolute shit holes. Want to complain about your room? Go pound sand.

Those industries werent good for decades. And the disruption actually made car sharing much more consistent and hotel experiences better.

We live in the future!

I swear that most commenters are young people because back in the 90s-2000s, taxis and hotels were hot fucking garbage.

Taxis would go on joy rides to up the cost or refuse you if you were black.

Hotels would tell you to go suck a dick because their price listed outside is not for you, and if you want a place, they have a room with roaches near the heater.

Uber/Airbnb were gamechangers that broke that monopoly.

Unfortunately, they have gotten to shit. But you know what? Taxis and hotels have cleaned up their act. Because the moment they go to shit again, Uber/Airbnb will come in and eat their lunch.
