Americans to be hit with record-high electricity bills this summer

So many people just turn on the AC without doing anything on preventing heat in the first place. Things you can do before the AC needs to help:

  • open all windows in the morning when it is cool. Close them when it gets hotter. This traps the cool air inside.
  • shade your windows (those overhang things on windows, tint film, curtains, plant a tree)
  • stop using machines that produce heat (oven, vacuum cleaner, dryer, etc)

Do I belong in tech anymore?

I think the problem has always been there but now with ai it is magnified. There are always those people who don't care about quality and want to get it over as quickly as possible. Before ai they could not push so much work so their dumb low quality work was not so prominent. With ai, they are 100x faster than your high quality work. Your work isnt even seen anymore because it is overwhelmed by the low effort work.

I guess it is a reference to champagne. If wine does not come from the region "Champagne" it is not allowed to be called Champagne but just white wine. Even if it tastes just the same.

What's your experience with Nim?

I have no idea about Nim but have you checked Go (Golang)? It does the things that you need: single binary, cross compile, easy to learn (except methods on an object are a bit weird at first).

Next to that it is also stable, not dying soon and lots of dependencies to extend the language.

Anyway, if you like Nim, go for it.
