EA reportedly shelves Need For Speed completely to focus on other projects
Yet more evidence that the next decade may not be a good time to be a fan of racing games. Feels bad.

Are there a lot of active gen z protestors relative to other generations near you? I’m on the younger end of millennials, and where I live I see way more people older than me at protests than people younger than me or close to my age. Maybe just a quirk of my city I guess.

Trump diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a minor vein condition, after noticing swelling in legs

This is a fair argument, I just don’t think it’s a cult of personality. The far right is performing shockingly well all around the world. It’s not because of the personalities involved, it’s because for one reason or another the ideas are popular. People can tell the world is getting worse, and many are blaming cultural outsiders rather than capitalism and the rich.

Fair, there is actually one local to me I’ve been looking into. I’m not sure what use I can be but I should at least try.

If you can’t perceive bad things, they won’t affect your mental health. Sounds a lot easier than perceiving bad things all the time and not being able to do anything about them.
I often think about how much happier I might be if I never read the news. No more worrying about where the world is going, just blissful ignorance. I just can’t bring myself to do it, I feel like I have to watch the slow motion car crash.

Gen Z Is Cutting Back On Video Game Purchases
Reply in thread
Sports has a problem with advertising full stop. Gen Z is the first generation to really have grown up when ad free streaming was widely available. It has gotten so much harder to stomach the ads as I have gotten less accustomed to tuning them out. As a result I just watch way less live sports than I used to, especially American ones. Now I mostly watch soccer, where I get commercial break free bliss for 45 minutes at a time.

That’s true, but as an individual, I can’t fix anything. I can be a tiny part of a greater movement, but whether such a movement will form is completely beyond my control. So is whether or not that movement would succeed. Of course, some people become more than mere passengers to global events, but that seems far beyond me at this point. The best I can hope to do is make a tiny difference within my community.

RuneScape studio Jagex confirms layoffs 'to reduce complexity, increase agility, and ensure we are fully focused on the areas that matter most'
This sucks. I remember seeing the membership price hikes a while ago. It has been an interesting experience being someone loved RS to death in the mid-late 2000s, signed up for the 2007scape private servers, saw OSRS get announced and become so popular that I ended up getting to play it on my ipad, and now seeing this era of crazy price increases and layoffs.
Almost makes me wish I played it more back when times were good, but I always ended up playing IM and quitting for a year plus when I died.

I don’t think Trump going away would solve any problems. The people who voted for him will still exist, and will still be easy to manipulate. Trump is not special, his success is a product of the right wing disinformation machine and the failure of previous governments to stave off wealth inequality.
