A small bright side, at least they are DDR4 not DDR5 or you'd be even more screwed!

Help with wheelchair software
Hey Op, since you appear to be somewhere in the EU based on your mention of Euro pricing, would you be willing to name and shame the wheelchair manufacturer and/or model?
Without giving too much of my own personal information away, I might be in a position to cause a bit of ruckus for this particular company in terms of bad PR, possibly legislatively. I work for a company that profiles itself on doing this stuff "the right way" (secure practises, not screwing users this way, etc) and we are working on building a list of practises we are hoping to root out EU-Wide with some examples that are clearly exploitative.
I need nothing personally identifiable, just the brand and model, and I can pass it along to the team that can investigate further.

Leak: Valve is making a Steam Controller 2
Give me the Steam Deck layout sans screen and I'll buy several.
So fucking fed up being charged out the ass for a few extra buttons and/or shitty build quality.
I went through RMAing SIX god damn Xbox elite 2 controllers before just giving up and getting my CC agency involved to get my money back.
I just want a controller with back pedals and touchpads for mouse emulation. Is that so hard?

PHP Moment
Tell me you've never used PHP without telling me you've never used PHP.
It's known for giving a complete stack trace, it's nearest neighbours and their god damn grandkids the moment it so much as coughs up a warning. For the longest time it was notorious for doing this as the default error logging level.
I'm aware it's cool to hate on PHP, but it has plenty of things to dislike without straight-up inventing nonsense.

We are waiting...
I've said it before, just.. give me a Steam Deck without the screen, and I'll buy it. I need that layout, it's the perfect combination of features for me.
If I could be greedy, an extra set of back paddles and some extra "spare" buttons would be nice for flight/space sim games.

Why do we choose this life?
Because we love em!
Scratching in the "wrong" places tends to be either from frustration, or a lack of stimulation/appropriate places to scratch.
You probably already have some scratching toys/mats/spots, but try experimenting with different orientations; attached to a wall, 45 degree angles, those wave pattern ones, not just straight flat on the ground.
Also, try different materials. Some cats love that rope, others want cardboard, and some are very picky or want both.
If your cat is overweight and leaving streaks or not drinking enough, you should talk to a vet, ideally making an appointment with a nutritional specialist. It may be they are allergic to something in their food, causing intestinal upset. If that's difficult, you can also simply try giving pouches of small gastrointestinal wet food and seeing if that helps.
It may also be because they are too fat to clean themselves properly, and they butt-scoot to clean it that way? You can get special diet food that fills them but doesn't have as many calories.

What are some unique games to host server's of?
In the style of those games, self hosting a Vintage Story server is extremely easy to do. Extremely easy to customize, well documented wiki.
I've been running mine for over a year with zero hassle on a tiny server.

Do nothing. Win
Stability, reliability, don't fix it if it ain't broke.
Some companies have a need to reinvent them every 6 months to justify some middle Manager's existence so they can pad their resume for the next overpaid job position.
This Is what it looks like when you don't have that problem

Palworld has, once again, highlighted the ongoing deficiencies in PC Game Pass and the Xbox app on Windows 11

It's doubly absurd considering Microsoft owns one of the biggest build and deployment automation pipelines as part of their Azure offerings. Most of it is aimed at Azure, but so much of the Xbox backend is just Azure under the hood anyway. Azure Pipelines should have had integrations for this on day one.

Deviled Egg Sliders
This falls in the category of "looks shitty, but could be pretty good".
I once had a variation of this with devilled eggs with minced chicken cooked in a broth mixed in. It was fantastic, so meat in devilled eggs could probably work?

Everyday I have to block dozen of "x"-moe communities while scrolling the main feed. Is there an easier way to purge anime from main page?
At this point there are so many of them, its literally just spam. Also, a lot of the time it's very NSFW stuff that doesn't get flagged at all.

Which animals, besides cats or dogs, would you give a ride to or intentionally let in your home with barely a second thought?
Probably a capybara, or a cheetah. Both are rather chill animals, and cheetahs are fairly able to be domesticated (and have been multiple times throughout history) at least compared to other big cats.
Both are still a really bad idea, and the latter will probably result in injury or death. After having interacted with two Cheetahs through a rehab centre, I'd be open to try.

If Order 66 never happened, do you think Ahsoka would have started a family?
I read a bit of fan fiction ages ago that extrapolated on what would have happened if Anakin had, at the pivotal confrontation with Mace and Palpatine, made the choice to support Mace instead.
I liked the interpretation that it would have still resulted in Luke and Leia, since Padma would still have had the twins, but not in secret, and without force fuckery, would've survived childbirth.
In this timeline, it results in a new high republic era, Anakin as a master, raising his children and them being his anchor to the light side. The friction in the story came from the politics of the Council disapproving of his attachment to his family, but it is also politically difficult to kick out the person who just saved their hides.
While the story didn't touch upon Ahsoka's fate much, I would have loved to see a timeline where Ahsoka raised a family and her kids hanging out with the Skywalker's.
That alone has so much potential for storylines; there would still be remnant forces of separatists, rogue troopers, the death star plans being out there, and potentially Maul as well.

The new OneXPlayer F1 Pro takes on the Steam Deck by using the latest AMD Ryzen Strix Point chips, and these benchmarks look amazing. [from $1,099 and tops out at $1,699= ~2x or 3x SteamDeck's price]

I'd consider it if it was SteamOS, since I love the Steam Deck, but it's performance is just shy of where I'd like it to be.
No SteamOS is a hard pass from me though. I've just finished ditching Windows on my gaming PC, I don't intend to back step back to Windows, especially on a handheld.

Valve tweak 4K screen scaling on Linux, plus more Remote Play fixes
I switched to using Moonlight to stream rather than Steam's built-in RemotelyPlay months ago. It was just absolutely unusable; not a bandwidth issue, had that in spades. The problem was that it would either not connect, connect to a blank/green screen or the audio/video would randomly cut out. It would work maybe a fifth of the time, and if I had to reconnect for whatever reason, it would absolutely always fail.
Moonlight? It worked out of the gate, and has never failed despite running on some beefy encoding settings since I have very good WiFi with next to no interference from neighbors.
I desperately want Steam's own offering to be better though. Not having to install a second tool, and to just connect from Steam directly would be a much more polished experience.

Neurodivergents of Lemmy. Do you think of yourself as (A) Cursed by fate, permanently damaged and suffering OR (B) Gifted by fate with a nonstandard package of strengths and weaknesses?
I'm mildly autistic, to the point I do have to put on a "face" and try to act "normal" in social situations. I am generally quite sociable and outgoing, so I don't feel it's held me back. It's just different.
Both socially and through work I interact with a diverse range of people, and I don't think I am any more different than a British person is from an Italian. I've taken the mindset that if someone has a problem with that difference, it's merely an excuse for their bigotry that would've surfaced for a different reason either way.
On the flip side, it's been incredibly helpful in my career. I have an affinity for processes and an analytical brain, as well as the ability to disconnect from any discussion emotionally. I have always felt that this stems from my autism and it's allowed me to have business discussions about difficult topics while leaving Ego at the proverbial door.
So I would say that for me in particular, it's been a positive. Someone having a problem with me being different is just that; their problem, not mine.

What would you do with the Borg?
This is probably controversial, but i always disliked how the Borg seemed to assimilate for the sake of assimilation? It was sometimes explained as their way of growth or achieving perfection, but that always rang a bit hollow as a motivation.
If I could write a longer term direction, it would be interesting as a quasi-justifiable thing; have the Borg be the boogeyman in the dark of space, until we find out its collective drive to assimilate is a way to insulate itself against some greater evil.
I've always liked stories of eldritch horrors lurking in the depths of space, so one way you could do this, is for there to be something lurking in subspace; warp drive weakens the fabric of space holding it back, which explains the Borg using transwarp conduite instead. This horror would be able to easily subvert individual minds to its needs, but the collective acting as a whole could resist it.
A "bad guy" doing bad things for an understandable reason is much more interesting that them just being straight-up evil. So in general I would aim for something like that.
