Loops is new and still in beta. The dev has said that he wants to wait to open source it until he feels it's current state is ready to be on other people's servers (once it reaches 1.0). I can't say I agree with the thought process but at least with pixelfed he did the same process and actually followed through on federation and open sourcing

I don't daily drive one but I've been keeping a close eye on it and here's my opinions: postmarketos seems to have the most momentum out of any distro (you can see device support here). I do believe it will be viable eventually as a lot of work is actively being done. This month they announced two grants that were accepted for 4g volte calling and firefox on mobile improvements. They are also working on porting systemd to alpine so that gnome mobile and plasma mobile can be run without any workarounds. Also the oneplus6/6t seems to be the most hopeful for a daily driver.

tldr: I don't think it's currently viable but work and money is currently being put towards projects to fix that

Yes, you install them through desktop mode then load them into steam as a non steam game. Then they'll show up in game mode. There's also a decky plugin that easily lets you add artwork for the steam entry

While it is ironic, the pixels are easy to unlock the bootloader and have good support across lineage, calyx, and graphene. Been using one to degoogle for awhile and would recommend them

If you need all the online features you can run gog galaxy through wine, however I just use heroic launcher instead. And you can add any executable to steam, if I'm not mistaken I think heroic has a setting to do it automatically

A part of me does hope that they'll hold off and release riscv products instead (headset and deck). I know box64 can already translate to riscv and I remember reading that FEX was working on it (android is also getting riscv support so waydroid should too?). There are apps made for linux that don't work with android, and there are apps made for android that don't work with linux. That's enough for me to consider them different

Whether or not it is on gog doesn't really impact how easy it is to pirate. For me it's almost like streaming where the convenience is so high that I'd rather just pay on gog and get the perks that come with that then look elsewhere.
