It's weird, to me people who drive with one hand across the wheel whilst filming themselves make me think they're bellends.

‘I turned into a solar nerd’: money and fun were the unexpected benefits of installing panels
Can confirm. Have become a total energy nerd. Want more solar. Want heat pump. Watch how much we spend and how much we make every day. Tell everyone about it and have no shame. It's a hell of a drug.

Carbon capture company emits more than it captures | CCS illusion only delays the elimination of fossil fuels

Removing the GHG needs to be done but this is not how you do that. This is a way to say "look, we're trying so just let us take another hit of that sweet sweet crude OK?"
Plant trees. Simple.
Let the systems balance themselves out. Simple. Not fun but Simple.
CCS for industrial processes and that might one day be good enough to work on a global scale? Maybe but that's fucking ages away and it's certainly not this.

Geothermal energy could outperform nuclear power
It's already feasible in parts of the world, Iceland being one of the best examples. Places like Cornwall in the south of England could be made to have geothermal with a bit of work and there's many locations around the world that lie between the two. It's a great resource that offers eye watering amounts of power, readily and easily, 24/7 reliability and with no greenhouse gases.
The issues come for the rest of the world in that you need to dig deeper to get the right heat but that's > just> engineering and we've overcome similar extremes before, seee off shore drilling/wind turbines etc.. Money and time is something that's needed. Money seems to be less available which is mine numbingly frustrating given the damage that's coming if we don't get our shit together. Time is something we don't have in abundance especially with what little money there is.
It's something I hope we see a lot more of but I'm a pessimist these days so I'm not holding my breath.

EV sales slowdown is mostly a Tesla problem, according to sales data
Reply in thread
The 3 was refreshed earlier in the year and the Y has it's refresh incoming. They also update the cars all the time just not always stylistically. There's not an "all new for 20xx" launch or the like that you get from others. The X and S now compared to say the 2016 are markedly different.
Also Nissan had the leef about 10 years ago so they're not a new entrant and only have currently two products and I wouldn't say they're indistinguishable. Also I wouldn't say that about the Seal, it's clearly an EV and BYD is unashamed about that.
The existing OEMs need to get their act together. If you thought Tesla was hurting them, wait until BYD, NIO and Geely turn up in numbers.
