After 40 years of being free Microsoft has added a paywall to Notepad

I agree, but the idea of adding AI to notepad is quite insane in its own right

He's being a little perv to his wife's younger sister but it's easier for her to be mad with you than admit the person she chose to marry is a perv.
It is evident that he engaged. Tell her to sort this out with her man.

The problem is it's probably a good idea to get people in deprivation to eat healthier. It's also a reasonable claim that antidepressants are over prescribed.
However, if the alternative is unaffordable, the solution is just a punishment.

New Zealand Covid inquiry finds vaccine mandates were ‘reasonable’

There's a new government and a complete shift in power. The enquiry is neutral. Nobody's patting themselves on the back.

You are not.

Your partner has some issues she seems to need to work through. Entertaining her delusions probably won't help her.

Why does it feel like we're at a point where every social media + other digital media are making shitty decisions and falling apart?
I think also we've become so dependent that they can just do whatever the fuck they want.
I've lived in a bunch of countries and FB messenger is the only way for me to keep in touch. FB can do whatever they want to me because I'm never going to persuade a bunch of people to all move to signal or something.
Reddit has communities that simply don't exist on any other platform.
They have the critical mass.

Most important thing you've learned in the past 5 years
The 80/20 rule... although it is more 90/10 for me.
For example, being full vegan is awfully hard (at the start), but eating vegan 90 percent of the time is actually super easy.
Biking instead of driving most of the time is much easier than telling yourself to cycle every day.
We often treat things as all or nothing... And sure, I'd love to be perfect at all the things I find important, but doing so puts certain things out of reach because it makes me frustrated and give up on good intentions.

It's definitely cultural as well. I'm European and never struggled to make guy friends. I moved to New Zealand which is very British, and I really struggle here. My guy friends are other immigrants from Europe or South America. However, 80 percent of my friends are female. I love them but at times I definitely do miss having more dudes to hang out with.
Kiwi blokes are super quiet and steer away from serious conversation. It's really hard here.

Do you think the guys on the titanic submarine will be rescued?
It really depends on how they went. Sudden implosion of the hull, quick and easy.
Floating around for days until your air runs out, wondering if someone will find you... Not so much.

How do foreign nationals feel about Estonia's decision to revoke their voting rights?

Why does Lemmy feel so fresh compared to Reddit?

Absolutely, my first thought was this is what internet was in the 90s and 00s. Slow, good yarns, and lame jokes.
Tbh there's already too many memes here though. Half my front page is 196 and German me_irl sometimes.
