New to gardening. Help needed.

Hey folks,

I have no gardening experience and looking to improve the garden that was planted by the previous owners. I am unsure how to maintain these plants and what is best for them, as well i don't know what is intended to grow and what might be a weed out of control.

I have linked an album of photos I have taken of various plants. A lot of them seem to be growing out of what looked like previously dead stems or growing over them. I am just not sure if I should be getting rid of the dried out old stems or if i am supposed to leave them as the new plant might need it, it also looks like it depends on the plant.

I tried tugging out the dead stems from some of them but there was a lot of resistance so i stopped for fear up uprooting the whole plant. Maybe I should trim those stems instead?

I am going into this blind so pardon my ignorance about it all.

How to aggregate a large amount of data into a single line value

Hey there,

I have a sample of data below in which there are multiple rows with different hours that all pertain to the same project id and task name.

I am trying to find a way to consolidate the duplicates into a single total for each.

For example, Altos Ohio I want to keep a single line for the Project ID, Task name (May) but have a single hour value of 1.5, rather than the 3 separate entries rows of 0.7, 0.5 and 0.3 as seen in the image.

The reason is due to my import tool, it will import them as 3 separate entries, but the goal end result would be to have the total hours as a single entry so I need to clean up this data before import.

How to create drop-down list based on relative values

Hey folks,

Hopefully I explain this well. I am playing around with xlookup and data validation lists and can't seem to accomplish what i am trying to do.

Simply put, i want a tailore list of options in a dropdown of a cell to be relative based on the value of another cell, however the cell it is referencing is the return from another xlookup.

Here is the contents I want to appear in the dropdown of Column B. You can see there are 4 different column list (on a different tab of the original sheet), and I want the cell to only have one of these columns available based on the criteria that appears in another column in this same sheet.

This is column B where i want the list to appear with its dynamic options, so we can see Audit Detailed options now but if AUP - Simple were to appear in column K (image below) i would want only Perform AUP Procedures to appear as an option in this drop down.

This is the column I want to reference to change the dependent list option in column B, however i think i am having issues because as you can see the data return in the cell is correct but up in the function bar is the formula because this column is the return of another Xlookup.

What would you do in this scenario?

Just noticed this when getting a new AC installed yesterday. Not sure if it's a bird or squirrel nest, or even active. It's super high up that I don't have a ladder to reach, also I am not super cool with being that close to electrical wiring but I feel like it's a hazard that needs to be removed. Anyone else experience this and what you suggest my approach should be or what service might need to be hired?

Value in cell is not true

Hey folks,

I can't seem to understand this issue or how to fix it, hoping for some guidance.

I have a set of data, in column B, i want all the numbers to have 3 decimals places. Some naturally do in the data set but others don't so I formatted the column to be Numbers and add 3 decimal places.

This is fine at a glance but my issue is that is not the true value in the cell. In the specific cell it shows how I want it to show, but when i look at the formula bar, it is showing the value without the 3 decimal places and when i go to import, the system is also showing the value without the 3 decimal places.

I have tried copy and pasting the column, pasting values only or changing the format to text instead of numbers and nothing is working.

I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out where i am going wrong because it seems like such a simple task.

Connect Mini Split to Air Circulator system?

Hey folks,

Apologies if my questions are ignorant, first time home owner and don't know much about these things. I am looking to find out if my idea is possible or suggested. Bought a house last year and noticed the house gets pretty warm in the summer.

We have what looks to be a mini-split system - wall mounted unit that shoots out cold air. There is no central air (not common in this area or when these houses were being built), but we do have an air circulator system.

The wall unit is located at the top corner of the central stairwell but the way our house is laid out, it doesn't do a good job of getting cool air into the upstairs bedrooms or the mid-level main bedroom because it is around the corner of the stairs and then opens up into a much bigger room.

I have noticed that all the rooms (aside from the main bedroom) have an exhaust for the air circulator system. My thought are, is it possible to leverage those ducts and connect the mini split system to it, that way cool air can flow through the air circulator system into the bedroom.

It doesn't really solve the main bedroom issue, for that we might need to add another wall mounted unit directly in the bedroom since summers are humid here and a fan doesn't often cut it.

What do you think?

Potty Training: Toddler holding it in, tips?

Hey parents! Dad of a 2.5 year old girl and having some struggles with potty training and curious to know if others have experienced this issue and what tricks/tips helped.

We started potty training in January and it was going well, we made it part of her nightly routine to go #1 on the potty before bed and would get a sticker reward (some tracker chart that pampers/huggies offers). She even started to say she wanted to go on the potty during the day and even made a couple #2's, which we were excited for and told her how great it was she did this.

Then suddenly overnight she became incredibly afraid of the potty and is now actively trying to hold it in. We know she needs to go because she strains, yells "No" repeatedly and holds her bum as if she is trying to keep it in. We try to encourage her and tell her it's ok and that she can go in her diaper if she needs to but the act of going #2 seems to really scare her and we are concerned of any side effects of her constantly trying to hold it in.

She seems to go at daycare with no issue (in her diaper, they aren't actively trying to potty train her yet).

I understand people might not know the cause but curious to know if you went through this and what helped your toddler?
