I was listening to a podcast today about the Danish Superliga discussing how they anticipate all of the top 8 teams to lose their best player in the summer transfer window. Got me thinking about the challenges and imbalances in the football league structure across countries today. While it's great for the players it does make me a little sad to think of how these clubs and their fans have to almost view as an inevitability that most of the best players in the league will leave every year.

You would think so. 70 million for mount seems like a steep price for sure.

Interesting first round of fixtures. Burnley - Man City will be interesting, and feel it's been a while since we had a game like Chelsea - Liverpool on the opening day.

Sheffield United - Crystal Palace feels like a game from sometime back in the late 19th century.

I plan to. At this point even though I do think Reddit could walk back the changes in a way that is mutually accepted, I have zero faith they would be willing to actually make the changes needed to incur enough good will. I rarely if ever commented and won't delete my account (for access to old content viewed and subreddits subscribed to help seek them out here) but definitely not planning on going back.

Agreed. I think it's such a difficult issue to tackle. If you implement salary caps, would the increased income just go to the owners? Is that any better, how feasible is it to equalise wages to a degree that many countries are attractive from a financial standpoint and is that even desired?

It's interesting to think back to the Bosman ruling and it's implications. I would never be able to argue that it would be better for the players to go back to pre Bosman days, but it is incredible the ramifications for "smaller" clubs who face a constantly ticking time bomb of needing to lock players down on contracts early to avoid risking those who develop fantastically only have a year or two left, but that leaves you paying a lot of money for youngsters who don't pan out.

The one that comes to mind for me (probably quite typical) is the rim to rim to rim.

I also love it as a self supported run, but if you could actually share that experience with a like-minded group of runners while not overloading the park that would be incredible.

I think he would be right in-between. Depending on game situation might start ahead of Eriksen some games, other times Eriksen might be preferred. Perhaps similar to how 2 of de brune, gundogan, and Bernardo Silva start for city. Allows for rotation and midweek adjustments.
