Physical dark mode

Yes, because full black/white contrast is harsher on the eyes than a dark grey with white or light-grey text. For power/efficiency, black pixels definitely makes sense, but concerning user experience and eye strain, there are many good reasons certain color palettes are used.

Third party Reddit apps just got canned.

I just got started today, but Connect has been working pretty well for me on Android. I had some issues with Jerboa, but I've heard others say it works well for them. For now, I'm waiting on Sync for Lemmy to release, but I'm also thinking of spending some time writing my own UI as a fun side project!

Tucker Carlson claims he was mauled by a demon while asleep, leaving claw marks

As someone who was raised in a very evangelical household: the (non)-answer is that it happened to him in order to tempt him or test him or some shit. If it happens to a non-god-fearing individual, it's deserved, otherwise it's God's plan all along. Because moving the goal posts is just way too easy.

The real answer is Tucker Carlson is either actually insane or hardcore grifting, but I'm probably preaching to the choir here going down that rabbit hole lol.

is your blue my blue ?

Definitely different depending on your screens. I tried it on my desktop monitor, which is fairly decently calibrated, and I got 192 (quite high - bluer than 98% of pop. at the time). It was basically impossible not to notice any hint of green tinge in the background. On my phone, I got 171 (bluer than 68% pop. at the time). I took the tests back to back.

I moved the window between my two desktop monitors just now, and my second monitor is not only older tech, but it's also not color-calibrated at all (or calibrated poorly). A lot of the greener-looking colors on my more accurate monitor looked sky blue on the other monitor.

Edit: eh... I just took it on my phone again and got 192 this time lol. It's probably because the colors close to the boundary don't fit into blue or green for me, I'd rather be able to select both/none. Being forced the choose one kinda makes it subjective to how I'm feeling about it at the time. But I know that's not really the point of this test.
