Inspiring. Innovating.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as far as I know trees are no real solution. Yes, they take CO2 to grow, but everything is released again when they die and are consumed by bacteria which just didn't exist a few million years ago. So they only ever store what the forest is made of and not a bit more. They will rot and never ever become coal again. So while it sounds nice to plant a forest and there are other benefits, when if we planted a forest on every inch of the planet it would not solve our problem. Am I wrong here? Tell me!

Fairphone 6 + PostmarketOS working audio calls!!!

There is probably no way, but something that works in the car like Android Auto? I guess the protocol is proprietary but it will be one of my hardest things to miss if I had to go back to the car navigation and entertainment. So if it can't be compatible, then something that does the same with an external screen or so, so it can be added to a car.

Nuclear isn't perfect, but it is the best we have right now.

Reply in thread

Sorry, but that is far from correct. Of course you can throttle wind and solar production if you want, but the problem of to much energy is a nice to have. You could create Hydrogen or desalinate water in large scales if you got energy left over Regarding nuclear power: If you calculate the cost of nuclear and include that you need to store the waste for thousands of years it's not cheap either. And you also need to source the fuel from somewhere. Uranium is not abundant. And also it takes 20 years to build an new plant. By then it will be even lest cost effective. Rather continue with wind and solar and then batteries for the money.
