Too many upsets/potential upsets to keep track of! I’m so glad CFB is back

At least this is something everyone on /c/CFB can agree is a good thing.

At least Lemmy doesn’t have a bunch of obnoxious Ohio State and South Carolina fans (yet) to come into Clemson game threads when we’re losing 😅

(We also don’t have any obnoxious Clemson fans yet, thankfully.)

The combined net worth of the room was more than $15 billion.

I miss banana plant guy already. Gone too soon.

Wonder if travel to the Moon qualifies teams for the Hawaii exemption. Also, 16-0 Space Force National Champion who says no?

ESPN has the same order I do in my head, best teams over most deserving. Michigan and Washington are both tied at 1 for me but Michigan was ranked higher previously so I’m giving them the edge. Would’ve been way more interesting/controversial if Jordan Travis was still healthy and FSU dominated Louisville. We really might not have had an SEC team in the playoff for the first time ever.

For Clemson, it’s looking like the Holiday Bowl against either Oregon State or USC. I’m fine with either school. The matchup against DJU would’ve been an interesting one and the Riley Bowl matchup would be fun. Never played the Beavers before but we’d have a chance to avenge our lone loss to the Trojans back in checks notes 1966.

Good luck to everyone, may the Bowls be ever in your favor!

This game is always so conflicting for me. I’m on Team Meteor every year but either way one of these teams has to lose which is good for me.

Every time I tune into an Upset Alert game, the underdog always starts choking. I’m going to go ahead and stay away from watching this one to give South Carolina a chance. But, if they blow it, I’ll be happy too.

Awesome. Thanks for all your work getting this resolved!

How do I upvote a post more than once?

Dang, just barely beat me to posting this.

Urban Meyer to Northwestern!

Ah yes, now it feels right. Glad it was tOSU before UofSC.

Thanks for getting this all set up. I’m hoping we can have some fun together this fall.

Of course. I will not be able to survive the season without talking about it with some strangers on the Internet.

I also want to give a huge shout out to @[email protected] who is the admin and creator of this instance. He is the one who got the server running and made it possible for us to have a dedicated space on Lemmy for sports! I know that I set up this community but I wouldn’t have had the tools to do it without him.

Oh I figured it out!

I don’t really have any set plans yet outside of game threads, but I will definitely add this to the list of ideas we want to implement this season. Thanks for the suggestion!

I know this is going to be overshadowed by Jimbo Fisher being fired but it still felt notable.
