But, the children! We need to protect the children!

He's such a pervert.

Says he'd date his daughter if she wasnt his daughter

Marries a woman who does soft porn shoots

Rapes a child and then the case 'disappears'

Gets charged for sexual assault and then slanders the woman who won the case. Ordered to pay her over 80 million in damages which of course he wont

Sexually assaulted a woman who was trying out for the Apprentice

Says 'you can grab them by the pussy'

His first wife accused him of rape during their divorce proceedings

TWENTY FIVE women have publicly accused him of sexual assault. One or two could be a conspiracy but 25?!!

This perverted asshole should be behind bars NOT pretending to be king of America.

Mastercard, Visa Under Fire As Petition To 'Not Police' Legal Content Blows Up [petition on Change.org, currently 203K signatures] [direct link in comments]

Mastercard refused to allow people to donate to Julian Assange. Blatant political interference.

I cut up my Mastercard.

Update: After reading the Collective Shout website, I completely changed my mind on what they're doing. I donated to them. The stuff they are campaiging against, specifically the game No Mercy is disgusting, glorifying rape of your mother and sisters? Who the hell thinks thats a "game"? Sick.

The natural diamond industry is getting rocked. You can thank the lab-grown variety for that | CBC News

Mined diamonds have always been a con job. DeBeers has captured the entire market and the promoted the idea that for some reason a guy should spend about 3 months income to buy a rock that isnt even rare. Heck, there are hundreds of them on drilling bits. But they had effective advertising and there was no competition so they convinced millions of people to shell out big dollars for a very common polished rock. Its about time there was some rationality and people refuse to spend that kind of money anymore.

ps If you want to know the true "value" of a diamond try taking it to a pawn shop. Sure, your "appraisal" from the jewelry store says its $5,000. The pawn shop says, I'll give ya $45 bucks and a free Pepsi.

U.S. tourism faces $5.7B US loss as Canadians continue to stay home | CBC News

Its not just casual tourists staying home. I follow real estate prices like condos in the touristy parts of Florida and the market is flooded with sellers and prices are dropping significantly. Realtors are saying they have had condos on the market for four months without a single inquiry because the market is saturated with sellers and no one's coming down to buy. Canadians are fleeing their vacation homes.

Sam Altman is “the face of evil” for not reporting school shooter, says lawyer

Im kind of surprised that Altman actually apologized and took responsibility. That's not something you see very often, especially for a school shooting situation. Im definitely concerned about what other things AI is going to encourage before we fully realize what we've unleashed. Seems like it didn't exist in the public eye a year ago and now every rich country is rushing to expand AI to everything with very few guardrails. Cant help but think we'll look back on this in 10 years and wonder what the hell we were doing.

Astounding really. In every science fiction story I ever read and every movie I ever watched as a kid, the robots were supposed to burst through the door and kill us with lasers. No one ever imagined they'd be on our phones successfully encouraging us to kill ourselves. Way too dystopian.

Some stupid Canadians say "We need the right to defend our homes with guns. Shoot intruders". This is the actual result of these policies

Generally true. The one difference is for people who are rural. I dont have a loaded firearm but I do have a powerful .22 airgun right by my front door. Its mostly there for protection against animals - several times we've had black bears walk across our front lawn, only a few feet from our door and we've had a bear tear the side off a trailer to get at the food scraps inside.

Having said that, I know that many of my neighbors have real firearms for the same reason. Two bears have been shot after they no longer were scared off by warning shots and unfortunately Fish and Wildlife generally refuses to relocate them (they were here first). And there have been sightings of grizzlies within 2 kms. NO ONE wants to mess with a grizzly.

But the unspoken thing about living this far from the nearest RCMP station is that we all know that even in an emergency, the officers aren't going to be here in any less than 30 minutes and that's IF they happen to be patrolling on this side of the county. And a lot can happen in 30 minutes. So we all keep some kind of protection around because we can't rely on being protected in a reasonable amount of time.

Carney announces creation of Canada's first sovereign wealth fund

Reply in thread

Your downvoters must have already forgotten about the 'Green Slush Fund' (Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) program) the one that the Liberals refused to reveal the details of where the billion dollars went even after Parliament demanded the books be opened. Eventually the Auditor General found that Liberal appointees to the fund gave $400 million tax dollars to their own companies, involving 186 conflicts of interest. We call this Green Slush Fund for a reason. Imagine how much more accountable they'll be with 30 billion.

Buying a new car? Hidden cameras show some Ontario dealerships adding extra charges and features

A news team did this check in Calgary many years ago. There was a Mazda dealer advertising a basic model at an unbelievably low price under $10,000. After a reporter with a hidden camera tried to buy that car the dealer eventually admitted that they not only didnt have a car at that price on the lot, but they couldn't even order one. It was a scam to get people in the door.

Here's looking at you Sunridge Mazda. We remember.

Homebuyers sue previous owners after discovering violent death occurred years earlier

In some US states, its obligatory to report any deaths in a seller's house. But kind of silly really. People die all the time in houses. Heart attacks, seizures, dementia, we all gotta go sometime, and not everyone dies in a hospital or hospice care. Does it really make a difference to four walls and a floor if someone died violently or in their sleep? And this guy didnt even die IN the house. He was stabbed in the house but he died outside on the porch. Are ya worried about a haunted porch?

Reddit Is The Most Evil Platform

Reply in thread

I think the main reason the author said that its the worst is that reddit openly allows harassment in subreddits dedicated to mocking and harassing someone. Like he said, if thats a famous person with a team that's not likely to make a huge difference, but for a small time content provider it can literally drive them to suicide.

Michael Burry (The Big Short) is betting against the AI Bubble

Reply in thread

Not yet. I think the burst is coming. There are plenty of signs and Ive read more than one economist, including the head of the Bank of Canada, worrying about the effects on the economy when it does: "The Bank of Canada's October 2025 Monetary Policy Report noted that a sharp correction in AI stock valuations could undermine consumer confidence in both the US and Canada, potentially leading to a widespread economic downturn."

I think the sh*tstorm is just around the corner. And those who have been crowing about their massive gains in the market are either going to wisely sell now, or get a huge beating when the rollercoaster starts to slide down.

No, the reason that a volunteer army of 6000 was able to collect 456,000 signatures to STAY in Canada is exactly because Albertans are NOT apathetic. The only reason you even hear about the 'separatist movement' and the wingnut Republican Party of Alberta is because the press giving them oxygen. There is very LITTLE appetite for separation here. Disgruntlement about the way AB gets treated by the federal government, yes, but separation, no. Its already dead. They wont get enough signatures to cause a separation referendum and this silly movement will die once and for all.

I've lived here more than 40 years and I have yet to meet ONE person who thinks separation is a good idea. And Ive seen a site promoting it, but the whole site used AI "Albertans" to present its arguments - not a single real Albertan. No one will even admit to creating the site, and no one is willing to go on national media and say they are heading up this movement. Its bullshit from a few wingnuts who are pretending they have momentum. They dont.
