I think this is confusing so tried to understand it and here is what I understand. The Wikipedia page for Asian News International is up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_News_International And it says things like ANI is the "mouthpiece" of the Indian government. There is a section about the lawsuit and it quotes what ANI didn't like about it. This is what the lawsuit was first about, but this page and the discussion page are still up as of 27 Oct 2024. The page can't be modified and given what you can see it looks like there was some editing wars that happened before editing was taken away.

Now about https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_News_International_vs._Wikimedia_Foundation The article and discussion page that was taken down is about the ongoing lawsuit. It been replaced with a page saying it was taken down and a link to the actual lawsuit. Which I suggest people read. I do think the Indian government has a point if you read the lawsuit. This is a ongoing lawsuit and the page taken down had info on it and a discussion page where people were talking about the ongoing lawsuit. The lawsuit says that this "...Complicates and compounds the issue at hand." And if you know anything about lawsuits the first thing people do or are told to do is to shut up about it. This page was really the opposite. I can see why Wikimedia complied.

That the lawsuit happened in the first place is disturbing. But I think Wikimedia replacement page for the ongoing lawsuit is not surprising and reasonable. If they had taken down the main article, now that would be disturbing.

I've been saying for years I was going to move back over to Linux. This will be the push I need. Sadly my Dad is bad at computers and will need Windows 11 when using 10 becomes a problem. I'm throwing this at my brother since I was the one who got our Dad a Windows 10 computer. FU Microsoft, you peaked at XP.

Financial institutions are not as secure as you think.

Every once in a while I will see someone ask "We bank online why can't we vote online?" Banking is secure enough that the money the banks lose is less than the money they make. Also not all lose of funds will hurt the bank if the individual is scammed, since individuals are supposed to keep their accounts secure and not fall for scams.

Your bank is using old technology and Excel for a lot of internal records keeping. Most fraud detection is a cost to the bank not a money maker. Stopping money laundering, human trafficking, ect means the bank doesn't get that money and has to pay people to investigate it and shudder report to the government.

Like almost every other business out there they work off of poorly made or old tech and the lowest paid people are push to more work with less time and resources.

I was taught as a child to open plain envelopes first. Checks, credit cards, and other important stuff are put in boring envelopes.

I worked for a CC company and when we mailed checks to customers we told them "This check will come in a plain white envelope." And the amount of people who thank me for letting them know because they might have thrown it away.

Expect even more when they no longer update Windows 10. I have 3 computers that are still good but can't be updated to 11. I'm installing Linux because I'm not buying new computers when these work great.

You just need to spend a few hours trying weirder and unique ways to frame the issue and you might find the answer.

When I read the title I sarcastically thought "Oh no, why is AI deciding to create fake historical photos? Is this the first stage of the robot apocalypse?" I find the title mildly annoying because it putting the blame on the tool and ignoring that people are using it to do bad things. I find a lot of discussions about AI do this. It is like people want to avoid that it is how people are using and training the tool is the issue.

Crime. Since people hear about it more often they think there is more crime, but in actually overall crime has gone down. There was more crime before 24 hour news not less. You just are hearing about crimes that in the past wouldn't have made the news.

PT is evidence based, chiropracty is woo. PT goal is to get you better and stop PT or teach you how to do it on your own. Chiropractors want you to come back for the rest of your life.

Laser hair removal. You can get it done professionally or buy a at home device. If buy an at home make sure it's safe to use on your face and near your eyes. I have an at home and it works and it takes years to get rid of all the hair in an area. I got rid of the hair on my feet still working on my lower legs.

I also use a brand of hair inhibitor called Completely Bare. It a lotion. I use on my upper face like between my eyebrows. You pluck the hair out and rub in the lotion. Not as good as laser but I'm not going to buy a laser removal device just to use in that area.

Laser hair removal works best on dark hair and light skin, but the tech has gotten better over the years so if you are not that see if there stuff out there that may work for you. If you buy a laser hair machine find out how much replacement cartridge are. It's better to pay more for a machine if the cartilage are cheaper. Also read the warnings so you don't burn yourself.

The ice maker stopped working and When I make Sodastream I pour it over ice so I wouldn't make Sodastream soda and was "forced" to drink the Cokes in the fridge. It took 2 days before the ice machine was fixed.

C. I worked at a hospital and at the hospital I worked at they would have called Security to secure the gun. There may even be an off duty police officer on staff at the time of the incident.

It is a public concern and any organization/people not a part of the lawsuit can talk and discuss it. Which we are doing. I even used the Wikipedia page we are talking about to discuss the lawsuit since it has the Order is on it. The full lawsuit isn't on that page, I made a mistake last night.

If there is a ongoing lawsuit that Wikimedia isn't a part of then they can have a Wikipedia page and discussion going on. That's their right.

My agreement is with the request in the Order for Wikimedia to not having ongoing discussion about the lawsuit. This isn't a gag order on everyone, it is just Wikimedia removing the info on the page about the lawsuit. And Wikimedia has info why they removed it and allowing people to read the Order so I think that is Wikimedia saying something without discussing it and it makes the Indian government look bad.

The order mentions more than "complicates the issue" so you might want to read the Order and gives more examples of what you see of their vagueness because it seemed reasonable to me. I find the lawsuit itself wrong and should have been thrown out.

When family/friends asks you how you are doing but don't listen to the answer that really sucks. Or they hear what they expect and make a comment that clearly means they weren't listening. Personally I found that too much of small talk is someone saying or asking something with no intention of listening. Maybe they think they are being polite or some social obligations to talk but I hate it. If I ask "How you doing?" "How's work?" I'm going to listen to your answer. If I make a comment about the weather and you comment back I will listen.

I think this is companies making something annoying blaming it on EU privacy laws and then they thinking people will be against these laws in other countries because of the inconvenience.

Same strategy of companies doing things like putting "Contents may be hot." on hot coffee and encouraging people to make fun of the McDonald's Hot Coffee lawsuits. People think it was a joke when it was McDonald's deciding to keep coffee extremely hot since it last longer, they saved so much money on coffee they could easily pay people off who got 2nd and 3rd degree burns because of the extremely hot coffee. But then one elderly women got severely burned in the groin area and the jury got so angry they awarded her a couple days worth of McDonald's coffee profit. Don't let companies do this type of thing!

Rosemary and lavender are just two plants that mosquitoes don't like. Fight them multiple ways. Plants, remove standing water, a fan, repellent you put on, ect.

Bloody, but just because when I had a period I would say things like "I'm on my bloody period!"

Three monitors for work and sometimes wish for a 4th. I'm doing research and pulling info from various documents into one document with commentary. A 4th would be nice so I could have email and chat on it. I've missed people asking me questions because I had documents in front of the chat and missed the pop-up. Sometimes you need 5 programes and then multiple documents open to understand what going on to explain it and then have to copy and paste from various documents.

For personal I liked it when I had 4 monitors. Main for web browsing and one for chats. The other two, one for playing video or music and the other to drag stuff to. The other two really shined when I would do photo editing or writing. Spreading things out over 3 monitors made things easier. Right now with my living situation I'm pretty much on a laptop so one monitor. Really makes photo editing not as fun and writing when I need to keep pulling up references stuff outright frustrating at times. I actually have more than 4 monitors at home since I kept picking them up at thrift stores, (DVI into USB adapters are nice) but didn't find any real benefit to more than 4. But once everything settles I plan on getting my 4 monitors setup back and a Linux station for certain projects with 2 monitors and Raspberry Pi with 1 monitor.
