Iran Leaves Four-Party Summit in Switzerland, Exposing Fragility of Islamabad Framework

Reply in thread

"Rejecting Tehran’s conditions, the U.S. president warned that if Iran failed to adhere immediately and unconditionally to the original text of the memorandum, Washington would reactivate tougher options and its maximum-pressure campaign.

The publication of those statements in the midst of the Lucerne meeting delivered the final blow to the negotiations. The Iranian delegation viewed Trump’s remarks as an open violation of Article Two of the Islamabad Memorandum, which prohibits any form of verbal threat."

If you deny this happened, then say so in a top-level comment and give reasons why we shouldn't trust this article.

Put on a reflective vest, and nobody bats an eye (your mileage may vary).

As to taking all the parts, maybe that was done to not leave evidence. If a cop were to see the mounting equipment, they'd know something's up. If it's just gone, they'd have to remember that there was one there at all to recognize it's missing.

I'm doing my part

It's quite thin for aluminum, and the downside with glass is the high energy cost of melting it. I'd like if we went back to washing and reusing bottles, but I suppose that's a big shift in processing capabilities.

Am I just bad at games???

Yeah, my Starfield installation with a few hundred (probably conflicting) mods doesn't even take 10 mins to load. Presumably, Cassette Beasts isn't a couple hundred gigabytes, either.

I'd throw my hat into the "full HDD" ring for OP.

Pornhub Is Pulling Out of France

If porn does any damage to the psyche, surely it's less than videos you can find showing torture and murder, right? At least in porn, people are shown having a good time. I'll also note that no porn is burned into my brain, but there are sure some other videos that are.

Can't make this shit up

Rick: "You know, Mr. President, the more you use that word, the less impact it has. At this point, it's like a terrorist is just a guy you don't like."

Pres: "Shut up, you terrorist!"

This is from memory, so isn't gonna be fully accurate. Ah well.

False alarm

Coastal area checking in, same thing for the tsunami alarms. I had some good fun with a tourist when, after they asked what the droning sound was, I replied with "Oh, it's just the tsunami alarm" and then didn't react to it. They were visibly nervous, so I waited a sec and then said "It's just a test 😁"

Marco Rubio humiliated by tiny red carpet rolled out as he lands in Canada for G7

Reply in thread

If I had to guess, I'd say that others wouldn't have gotten a red carpet at all. It doesn't exactly serve a function, and I've never heard of anyone receiving one.

After looking it up, though, it appears that "Heads of State" use them on "ceremonial and formal occasions". Wiki link here.

Edit: Barack Obama was photographed with a large red carpet going down the length of Air Force One's stairs. The one for Rubio is miniscule in comparison.

The partyhats were a limited time item available through the consumption of "Christmas Crackers", which you had to open with another player. They were only available for one season way back, and were tradeable. Because they could be traded to other players, and because they were limited, they shot up in price, and their cost only grew as inflation occurred.

I had the goal once of gaining enough gold to purchase the cheapest color (purple, coincidentally my favorite), and by the time I had enough gold, the price had risen by 100x what I had saved.

The company has made a point to not allow any limited-time items to be tradeable since.
